What's your favorite gun?

My favorite is one that was on the wanted list since I was knee high to a grasshopper, but also on the list of guns I could never afford. Well I found one I could and have never regretted dropping the cash for it.

Same here, except MY "go to gun" is a 1935 Krieghoff Semper,

I've harvested everything from moose and bear on down to deer, javolina and coyote, plus a host of small game with it!

It takes down for easy transport, and ALWAYS goes back to being perfectly sighted in, when reassembled!

I'll be hunting with it until i take my eternal dirt nap!

Around the back 40 I will have a 45 in an ATV fender bag and use my Ruger Single Six for just about everything I may run across. The Single Six is open carried with the mag snake shot the first up in the summer and the others for coyotes and varmints.

DM~,

That's gotta be one of the coolest "personal" guns out there. A person will never forget you if they see you with that firearm. What an impression!

re: post #14 GojoBrian, I am blown away by the furniture on that 1911. AWESOME.
I'd have to have favorites by category, too.
favorite wheelgun: RSB
favorite self-loader: 1911
favorite scattergun: Mossy 500
favorite rifle: Marlin 336

I love *and* hate these kinds of questions. Do you walk to school or carry your lunch? :) Answering depends on so many factors.

For me it has to be my Browning BT-99 trap gun. While my dad and I did a tremendous amount of things centered on shooting of all kinds, trap shooting was what we had the most fun doing: Driving to shoots. Reloading. The friendly rivalry of trying to beat the old man. Layer on that a gun that is just impeccably made - with a receiver built like a Mach truck - and it rises to the top of my list. And how cool is it when your dad lets you have a gun that doesn't even have a safety? :)

A Marlin Golden 39A levergun, my first purchase in the mid-70's. That gun could hold (total) 20-LR, 24-Longs, or 29-Shorts, and would feed them all. And, for a levergun, was pleasantly accurate when mated with a Weaver 2-7x scope.
*sighs* I really miss that gun. :(

The gun I have in hand at the moment. Since I have yet to dual-wield in any circumstance other than merely transporting, it is an accurate and truthful answer.:D

My first gun

I grew up in south dakota on a farm. I sold a pig when i was eleven and bought a remington model 722 in .257 roberts. I killed my first deer just outside of hill city that fall. I could shoot that rifle like a sniper, just using open sights, and it was perfect for whitetail deer and pronghorn antelope. I had access to some 25 long guns my father owned, model 70 and 71, of much greater value but the 722 was the best.

if favorite is the one I usually grab, it's a H&R versa-pak two brrl single shot. If the nuisance is a squirrel trying to get into things I slap the 22 brrl on.. If it's a gopher digging under the house I watch the hole until the .410 removes his head /// If favorite is the one that may save my butt someday, it would be the LCP always in my pocket

For hunting Coyotes. Rem Mohawk 600 in 5.56
hunting upland birds. Mossberg 500 in 410 & a rem side by side coach in 12 gauge
hunting turkey & snow geese Mossberg 835
just target shooting 1990 Colt Ar-15 Sporter

If could have just 1. Mohawk all the way

All of them for different reasons.

If I had to pick, maybe the LMT or Mossberg. I love the pistols too. Tough choice.

i have 5! there like my kids, i love them equaly. each one has a job to do and none of them will ever be sold.
the gun that was on my hip the day i got married, its has deffened my life, and ended a few toothy critters lifes in doing so.

I've always been a big fan of Beretta 92s (Either FS or G) and shortened Remington 870s (The 4-shot versions that have been shortened to the same length of where the mag tube stops and a little stub as a grip, kind of like the one in the Batman movie that the bank worker uses...AWESOME!)

i forgot this one

just got it back now 1k plus in the pipe gotta get a ZOOT SUIT AND SOME SPATS:what:
