Arizona - Just received a score of 0 from the Brady Campaign. Our gun laws are basically awesome. While there will always be room for improvement until guns can be bought and sold without restrictions, we have it as good as it gets.

WA Pretty much everything goes but select fire-

Open Carry (Not the smartest thing to do downtown) legal but you might weird out the antigunners

Concealed Carry (State constitution is "shall issue")

face to face sales ok, no need to register firearms unless bought from a dealer

can carry any pistol in any caliber- no capacity limit)

can not keep loaded rifles or shotguns in a moving vehicle

Our state hunting regs REALLY suck

personally , its time to move if all those restrictions inhibit your right to protect yourself and your family , I understand people get "grounded" and in this economy its hard to move , but at the first chance I would get out of those states , because as a law abiding citizen you follow those idiotic laws , but I can guarantee you that the criminal element will totally disregard those laws , the liberals who enact these laws look at YOU AS BEING PART OF THE PROBLEM! Its a no brainer for me , get out of that atmosphere before its too late!!

Vermont gun laws...

Don't carry with the intent to commit a crime.
Seriously.

The Vermont Statutes Online
Title 13: Crimes and Criminal Procedure
Chapter 85: WEAPONS
13 V.S.A. § 4003. Carrying dangerous weapons
A person who carries a dangerous or deadly weapon, openly or concealed, with the intent or avowed purpose of injuring a fellow man, or who carries a dangerous or deadly weapon within any state institution or upon the grounds or lands owned or leased for the use of such institution, without the approval of the warden or superintendent of the institution, shall be imprisoned not more than two years or fined not more than $200.00, or both.

A local lawyer once told me: "It is just about impossible to charge someone with intent, so don't intend to commit a crime and you have nothing to worry about."

The Vermont State Police will tell you that it is preferred that you carry concealed so that they don't get calls for armed men buying coffee and cigarettes at the local gas station... Besides, it scares the crap out of the tourists and that's bad for the economy:evil:

If I can find them, I can buy them person-to-person with only cash and a handshake, although I personally request a bill of sale. In a gun shop, I only have to have my driver's license, about 10 minutes of time to fill out the form and have the guy call NCIC, and the correct amount of money, plus sales tax, to obtain handguns and long arms here in Vermont, and we don't discriminate against certain types of firearm, be it a musket or a modern AK. God, I love this state!!!

it's not always that cut and dry. Some don't get to choose where they are stationed. Some were born in such states, and feel a responsibilty to work towards bettering their home. Some know that running away will not solve the long term issue. Some simply believe in the constitution and will always be found on the front line fighting opression.

Amen, brother!! Thank God we live here and not in the communist state of ________ (fill in the blank not AZ, AK, VT, MT, UT and a few others). I'm sure there are other states that are coming along nicely but being in AZ is fantastic if you are a gun enthusiast. :)
