What is your Smith & Wesson dream gun that they never made?

I was thinking 14 .25 ACP's in moonclips.

Like ring caps for grownups.

With a rail for a flashlight, I could use it to hunt palmetto bugs in the yard at night.

Black all steel M25

Mine would be just like the 45 acp nightguard but with a blacken stainless steel frame, barrel and cylinder or perhaps coated with modern a corrosion resistant black finish ( I like black guns ) and tritium night sights.

Since it would not be a "pocket" gun I see no reason why it should be made with an aluminum frame.

Dream Smith and Wesson

My dream gun would have to be something ridiculously unique.

I'm thinking a blued Model 27 with a 6" barrel in line with the 6-o-clock cylinder. (like a mateba autorevolver)

That would be one for the collection case.

Well, the overall length of a loaded 7.62x39 cartridge is almost identical to the overall length of a .460 cartridge. I don't see why it wouldn't be doable, but I'm not a metallurgist or mechanical engineer.

The problem is that revolvers don't work very well with bottleneck cases. After being fired, the case tries to back out of the chamber, and ties up the cylinder. If that could be solved, an X-Frame in 7.62x39 or .223 could be interesting.

didnt the ruskis build a revolver in 5,45? Can´t find it on google
right now.

But i strongly believe there was one.
Have they solved the bottleneck-problem?

a revolver in 7,62x25 or x39 would be awesome.

There was a 5.45x39mm revolver called a YESAUL. I can't remember if it was Ukrainian or Romanian or something like that.

Some gunsmith custom made a single action revolver in 7.62x39 also.

An S&W 500 with 6.5" barrel in carbon steel with the attention to detail that Smith's older guns had. In other words pinned and recessed, high polish blue, firing pin on the hammer, and without the bunghole lock.

I'd like a Model 614, a stainless version of the Model 14-6 (or -7, I guess, since MIM seems to be here to stay): .38 Special, 6" full under-lug barrel, Patridge sights, factory drilled & tapped K-frame.

How about a choice of 5 shot .45 ACP or 8 shot .357, stainless steel, no lock, and in a Centennial style like the 640 J frames (but with a K frame even for the .45, with smooth light leaf springs and with a 3" barrel or a little less).

Basically a Stainless Steel Centennial Nightguard series sized like a Charter Arms Bulldog.

The ruger LCR...lol.....
No, I'd say it would have to be the Model 686, 4", with built in EAS version....(Endless ammo supply) so you could shoot all day without reloading...Just like in the movies...

2" bbl Colt Lawman in stainless with S&W lockwork manufactured by SigSauer.

;)
At one point, when Colt was no longer really in the market producing new handguns, I joked that with SIG and S&W producing 1911's and Beretta making Model 1873 Peacemaker replicas, I was waiting for Heckler and Koch to come roaring out with Pythons and Detective Specials.

The closest we have now is the Armscor Police Positive copy. *sigh*

HK, because you suck and we hate you.

Here's some I'd like to see:
X frame, 7 shot .357 Maximum
N frame, 520 (the old NYSP Gun), 8 shot .357 Magnum full moon clip, w/ gold bead on front sight
K frame, M15, 7 shot in .327 Federal Magnum.
S&W autopistol, 4566, in 9x23 Winchester or .38 Super.

They actually did make it. It's called the 620. I had been wanting that gun for years. And then they finally came out with a 7 shot L-frame that has a model 66 profile and they stick a big ugly hole in the side of it. They shot that idea all to ---.
