Looks like the M4505 or M4506. Their full sized 3rd generation DA .45acp pistol. They are very good pistols. I just never cared for the grp design. Many LEO agencies carried them at one time.
My dad bought it from an LEO officer when they switched to Glocks. I think he got it for $350 with 2 high cap mags. It was quite a while ago, i believe at least five years. I hate the grips too
Hmm, from what I see it says to press on the slide stop pin then remove the slide stop, but the pin is swedged so it cant be removed. Am I doing something wrong or what? By the pin they mean the pin on the side of the gun under the ejection port in the pic, right?
If it comes apart anything at all like my 5906 or my CS40 then you have to get the slide aligned exactly in the correct place before you can push the pin out of the left side of the gun. For the first few times taking apart my CS40 I needed to use a wooden tongue depressor to push the end of the pin enough until I could pull the pin from the left. It also takes a bit of fiddling with the slide, moving it slightly back and forth until it lines up exactly where it needs to be. If you don't have pretty strong hands you might need to enlist the aid of your significant other.
I have one just like it, mine is a 4506-1 and it has been a real good shooter, trigger is not that great and it's heavy but it works every time and the weight makes for a smooth recoil. It holds 8+1.
O yea the slide stop wont come out with the mag in.
Wrap your right hand around the grip as if to fire, but curl your fingers up over the slide top. Retract the slide about a quarter inch till the notch on the left of the slide is over the slide release.
Then push the slide stop/release out from the right side. Completely remove it, then move the slide forward off the frame, drop out the barrel and recoil spring.
