What Kind Of Gun Would You Like To See?

Yeah I know, that's a sweet looking rifle. When I got my m14s that gun wasn't around but still it lacks a few things IMHO:

- Too heavy (don't have the numbers in my head but I think so)
- Too many small parts and springs
- Requires tools for breakdown
- Complex innards (getting the bolt out of my dads BAR takes 5+ minutes, getting the bolt out of my m14s takes less than ten seconds, I've timed it)
- No interchangable calibers

Great rifle but not quite what I'm looking for. I want the weight, durability, low maintenance and modularity of the XCR-m/Massoud/mk17 SCAR/hk417 in the same package as the hk770/browning BAR/ruger mkII.

One day!

1: Like many others, I want a Glock in 9mm about the same size as the PF9 or LC9.

2: I want 6.8 SPC to be adopted by the military so ammo prices will come down, and PMags made available.

3: A reliable pocket .380 with a good trigger.

How about, like has been said earlier, a single stack thin and compact 9mm Glock. HOW they do not have this seems absurd to me. :banghead:
They wouldn't be able to make them fast enough....

Makes sense. The more I read about the FNAR the less I wanted one. Maybe an M1A one of these days...

My guess is that it's probably an issue with the importation provisions of GCA '68. There's a points system under which a handgun must earn a certain number of points or it can't be imported. My understanding is that most Glocks can only barely qualify for importation, and that's only if they import them with adjustable sights and then retrofit them back to fixed sights upon arrival. There's actually a Glock .380 sold in other countries that can't be sold here because of this.

I believe you are exactly correct as to why they don't do a small single-stack 9mm Glock. I'm guessing the G36 just barely makes it to us.

However, one would think the economics would make sense for them to open up a USA factory and produce guns here. Then, like Ruger, they could make guns as compact as they want. Wonder what it would cost to invest in the machining and molding equipment to go into full USA production. Although in reality could they make the frames in Europe and then gain the parts content by some light manufacturing and assembly in the USA?

Hmmm....

Hello all,
I would like to see and XDm with a 6.5 inch barrel in 9mm, 40, 10mm, and 45, a GP-100 with and 8 or 10 inch barrel, and more pistals and revolver with longer barrels than they come in now.:D

Something that doesn't look like a Glock, a 1911, a Sig Mosquito or one of the other 20-plus generic looking handguns. Really, it's time for someone/somewhere to re-discover the word Style, and get artistically creative once again.....
Check out the Chiappa Rhino.

I checked out one of these at a gunshow not to long ago. I heard the trigger pull was a little tough (didn't squeeze it myself), but I was oddly impressed overall.

As far as what I would like to see...a fully tactical antique musket with folding stock, picatinny rails and an ACOG. Maybe a folding bipod attachment as well.

Oh, and a good M1A that wasn't over a thousand dollars.

A stainless steel, synthetic stocked .357 Magnum pump-action carbine with 16" bbl. It should have a rotary-box magazine, sturdy tritium ghost ring sights, forward rail (scout), decent trigger, and be of take-down design. The flash hider should be threaded on so that a can may be installed instead if desired.

I would like to see a revolver that can be easily suppressed. Basically a newer Nagant, but in many more calibers.

.44 Magnum all the way to .22LR, and comes with a threaded barrel already. I'd buy instantly.

Doesn't work that way. Too much gas escapes between the cylinder and barrel to suppress any revolver that doesn't use special ammo. Simply throwing a can on the barrel won't work.

^^^ He said he wanted something along the lines of the modern Nagant revolver. For those not familiar with the platform Nagant Revolver. The Nagant revolver has a sealed firing system and can make effective use of a suppressor.

Under $700 and you can sign me up for one too.

I said like a Nagant. See 402's link for more info.

Exactly.

I would love to see the CZ P-07 offered in a smaller version. Maybe a 3" barrel version with a 12 round magazine. That should shrink it to 6.5" long and 4.7" tall.

It would be about the same size as a CZ 2075 Rami but would be thinner, lighter, and have a decocker or manual safety option out of the box. If they rounded the edges a bit it would be perfect in my opinion.

1 - a classic styled (blued steel and walnut) semi-auto carbine in 458 socom, with good open sights.

2 - a browning T-bolt in 5.7x28

3 - a Dakota 76 long action reciever to magically show up on my door step at no cost to me...:D

Reopen the Machine Gun Registry, so that new transferrable full-auto guns can be manufactured, and old GI war trophys can be legally registered without being confiscated as "contraband."

I'd like to see a Springfield XD-45 compact with a 3" or 3.5" barrel--if it's possible to make one without compromising reliability (which it probably isn't).

Nato approved pistols using a standardized magazine would be nice. I hate how expensive pistols mags are.

I'd love to see a DI system gun with a more protected bolt (from debris). Kind of like the XCR bolt. And in a bull pup configuration. =)
