What pistol would you buy now just because the AWB is over?

Are there any pistols that you wouldn't have bought because of the limited mag capacity that you might now buy? I can see myself picking up a Glock 19 or maybe 17 now that mags are cheap. When they were $100, I bought the Beretta because hi-caps were still only about $30.

There have been serveral guns to come out after the ban that never had hi-caps. The Walther P-99 is a much more reasonable choice now that it can hold a full load. I can't see only filling a gun up 2/3 of the way. It is like going to the gas station and only putting in a few gallons of gas when you are on empty. I have seen plenty of people do that but I wouldn't.

If you paid $100 for a Glock 19 mag at any point during the ban, then you really bent over and took it hard.

They could easily be had for around $50 through various internet retailers. That was still way too much for a $20 mag.

I think I would kind of like the Para 18.9 1911. But mags are still expensive for it, and the Para online shop still doesn't even have them for sale, so I am holding off.

I didn't pay $100 for a Glock mag. That is the reason I wouldn't buy a Glock before, I couldn't see spending $100 on a plastic mag. They were up around $100 for some mags. I bought the Beretta 92fs because the hi-caps were still reasonably priced even after the ban.

I put a Kimber ten II on layaway just because of the ban sunsetting. I had a hard time diciding on an AK or the kimber, but since the prices are still up there on the AKs I choose a nice sidearm. Formerly LEO only mags are running in the $40.00 range but I am thinking maybe they will come down some once the demand slows a bit.

I waited ten years for the AWB to expire and when the cursed thing finally goes away I become interested only in 1911s. I've sold off two Glocks, with preban magazines, since the ban expired, in order to collect more funds for another 1911.

The site still says its a violation of federal law to build a new mag with a replacement tube. But Ive been longing for an 18-9 as well, and I'm holding off for the same reason. Well, to be perfectly honest, I want one in 9x23 or .38 super.

I wonder how many theyll hold with a grams basepad...

You getting those mags locally or from a website? Now that the bans over you may be able to use Para mags, just have to open the hole for the mag catch.

edit 2:
Come to think of it, I think the magwells in the new Kimber polymers are too tight for the Para mags to drop free...
