What Powders Do You Have and Use In Which Cartridges?

I'm just curious what others are loading now and have loaded in the past.

While I could load everything I now load with H4895 or Varget, I must admit, I practically have a different rifle powder for each cartridge I load. More times than not I use 2 or more powders for each cartridge with very little overlap. Even though I like to play with different powders, like I said, every single cartridge below can be loaded with H4895 or Varget and with good results. In the future I may consolidate my rifle powders to 4 or 5 which will probably be AA5744, BL-C(2), H4895 or Varget & 4350. Maybe even a slower powder if by then I'm loading something that needs a slow powder like 4831 or slower like IMR7977.

Right now I have something like a dozen pistol powders and even more rifle powders. I'm out of control for sure. I could load anything handgun with my 3 favorite handgun powders which are W231(HP-38), W540(HS-6) & W296(H110) and load them very well but I like to play!

Pistol Powders I Have:
Bullseye
Clays
Trail Boss
Universal
W231/HP-38
W296/H110
Power Pistol
W540/HS-6
Longshot
AA#5
2400
Lil'Gun
In better times I have had even more choices including AA#2, Zip, True Blue, Unique, WST, Red Dot, Green Dot and probably a few others too!

Rifle Powders I Have:
SR4759
AA5744
IMR4198
IMR4895 & H4895
IMR4350 & H4350
IMR3031
IMR4064
W748
H335
BL-C(2)
LVR (Leverevolution)
Varget
Here too I have had more rifle powders in better times including H4198, H322, Benchmark, IMR4227, TAC, W760, WC844, WC846 and again, probably a few others.

Right now these are the powders I like best in the cartridges I load with the first powder listed being my preference.

223/5.56mm - H335/WC844, TAC, Varget
30-30 Win - LVR, IMR3031
308/7.62mm - IMR4064 - BL-C(2)/WC846
7.62X54R - Varget
30-06 - H4350, IMR4350, H4895
303 British - BL-C(2), 4350
35 Rem - W748, H4895, LVR
45-70 - AA5744, 4198, SR4759

These are just my choices and of course not the only choices by a long shot.

NOTE: I do not have all my powders in one building and I comply with all local fire codes.

We'll I only load pistol but here is what I have and use,

Pistol: 9mm, 40S&W, 45ACP

Powder:

HP-38
HS-6
VV N320
Titegroup

Currently, I only load for handgun - .38 Special & .45 ACP.

I have a pretty good stock of Bullseye and Win 231 on hand and a small amount of Red Dot & Clays.

Is their a word left out of the title or am I dyslexic? Could be both I guess..

Anywho, for 9mm I use: 7625,4756,AutoComp,BE mainly.

I have those, and also Amer Sel, hs6, zip, w231, hp38, LS, Herco, and my red headed step child-a pound of 800x way in the back! Oh yea, and be86 (that's some good stuff too)

I think a "you"..but hell I could be reading it wrong..

And I know what you mean on keeping it concise, I always try to shorten mine as far as I can too. Didnt really mean to nit pick..

I only load for handguns.
Powder on hand:
Herco/Green Dot/Power Pistol/4756/HS6/800X/TiteGroup
Calibers:
45lc
44spc
Personally, I like Herco the best, but since it hasn't been available for what seems like forever, I am concentratin on developing a load using 4756/HS6.

--Nashtn--

I'm very settled in with my handgun powders, HS and Longshot. Being an exclusive jacketed bullet reloader has much to do with this I feel. Blue Dot, Red Dot, Hi Skor 700 and 800 old formulations, Unique, Herco, 4756, and a few others have been a part of my inventory at one time or another, though not for some years now.

High powered rifle is a bit different though. I know I could easily settle on 2 powders for the cartridges I load, but I enjoy trying different one's for each cartridge. There was a stretch in my reloading in which IMR-4350 and Varget were pretty much my go to powders, not so much these days.

My bottle neck powders are:

IMR-4350
IMR-4831
IMR-7828
IMR-4895
H4350
H4831
H4895
H1000
Varget
RL25
RL22
RL19
RL17

Rifle Powders

I'll use IMR4895 if I cannot find H4895. Appropriate loads already developed.

I have some dregs of various powders that i will not replace once they have been used up. The trick is to use them up (H322, 20/28, Lil Gun, 2400, RL7, Clays, W760, TiteGroup). I may have missed a few others.

While I have my current favorite powder for a particular cartridge, I have alternate powders and loads developed for each cartridge.

"you" is missing.... But, I'm no grammar expert. ;-)

Rifle- Accurate #2520, Accurate #2460, H-335, IMR 4350.
Pistol- Accurate #5, Titegroup

The Dove

Well, let's see
Alliant Bullseye just sits there, .38spl when someone else need them.
Alliant 2400 .357mag 41 mag 158gr and 210gr jacketed
Power Pistol .357mag 158gr plated and 41Mag 210gr plated
BE-86 .357mag 158gr plated
Little gun .327 FM 100gr jacketed
Universal .327 FM 90gr lead
Hp-38 9mm plated
Tite Group 9mm Plated
Long Shot 9mm jacketed HP
Auto Comp just sits there

Rifle is easy
Imr 3031 30-30 lever 150gr- 170gr
Imr 4064 308 150 gr
Imr 4350 30-06 165-168gr
Imr 4350 243 100gr
Imr 4895 8mm 150 gr

I only load for pistol and have accumulated these in the past year.

Titegroup 9mm, 10mm, .380, and .40S&W
Bullseye .45acp, .380,
W231-HP38 .380, 10mm

Others I have as backups:
Power Pistol
Autocomp
N320
SR4756
BE-86
HS5,6,7
AA7

We should probably have a bullet thread also.

Working from memory:

Pistol powders I have:

Red/Green/Blue dot
Promo
Clays/Clay Dot
Bullseye
TiteGroup
WSF
WSH
WST
AutoComp
Silhouette
Herco
W296/H110
Lil'Gun
Longshot
Unique
Power Pistol
AA #2/5/7/9
IMR 4756

I use a lot of Red Dot, WST and Bullseye for .38 and .45 target shooting. Blue Dot and AA#9 for 357sig. H110/W296 for 22TCM and .44mag loads. Unique and Longshot for .32 H&R and .327FedMag. Herco and Green Dot for 9mm. AutoComp for .40S&W. I like trying different stuff, but when it comes to the bullseye competition loads I seem to always come back to Red Dot with coated lead SWC bullets.

Rifle powders I have (I only load for .223):

H322
H335
Varget
Benchmark
Reloder 10x
AR-Comp
Xterminator
8208-XBR
4198

I haven't developed enough loads to have a clear favorite, but the RL 10x and 4198 are looking promising.
