Just wondering what powders guys are using for NRA Service Rifle High Power competitions? I use Varget but I am wondering about H3222 and any pros and cons.

What are you shooting? I really like Varget in my M1. TAC in .308 and 5.56. Recently switched to TAC from AA2520. All are really great.

I would stick with Varget. Never heard of anyone using H 3222 but that doesn't mean anything. Other good powders are Reloader 15, VV N-140 and VV N-150. The new IMR 8208 works extremely well also.

What bullet weight? For the 69 gr, AA2520 is still the one to beat. I have used it since it first came out. They don't call it the "Camp Perry Powder" for nothing.;)

322 is a little fast for the heavier bullets mostly used in HP (77, 80, 82) ... RL-15 and Varget are the most common choices, a couple of VV powders if you can find/afford them and AA2460 and 4895. 2460 meters very well, RL-15 probably next best, then Varget and finally 4895 which can be finicky to meter. 8208 is developing a following but it's new enough that there aren't as many well documented loads around.

Find much more info on the National Match forum (have to join to scan I believe)

Seeking Coyotes is a member opf National Match and received pretty much the same advice there. Basically, pick RL15 or Varget, go load some ammo and shoot.

Yes I hang out at both sites and enjoy mulling around different folks thoughts on powder and bullets. Guess I will just stick with Varget as it is cheaper. AA2460 I haven't heard much about.

2460 is one of the powders John Holliger recommends ... I know 2 guys shooting it with satisfaction; they both had issues with the metering of RL-15. One was using a Redding measure, not sure about the other. Meters very well for me using a Hornady.
