I've been reloading for years and currently load;
308
30-30
300mag
223
I use win 748, rl-15, rl-22 powders with very good results.

i am looking to expand powders.

what are some of the most accurate and versitile powders that you use? i will probably expand my calibers as i find good deals on differant rifles, maybe 22-250,243,300wsm,300ultra,338ultra.

the reason that i ask, i will be making a large quantity powder/primer purchase from Graf.
thanks guys

Of the cartridges you listed that you currently load, the only one I load is the 300 Win Mag and RL-22 fits the bill for that IMHO. I've used quite a bit of IMR4350 in a .308, 7mm-08 and a 30-06 in the past however. And my wife's 22-250 likes H380 real well if you're going to get yourself one of those.

These are the ones presently in my cabinet. I use more then one powder in some cartridges depending on bullet wgt/style.

H4895
W748
Varget
4064
IMR4350
H4350
R19
H4831
R22
H1000

I load for the;
223
25-06
260
6.5x55
6.5x284
270
7-08
308
30-06

AA2520
H-335
BL-C2
760
IMR 4198
IMR 4350
IMR 4895
RL-7
Varget

That is what is in my cabinet as far as rifle powders goes...other than the three you listed. :)

I use the AA2520 exclusively for my 308...its not called "Camp Perry Powder" for nothing, I can assure you. :)

The 30-06 will do pretty good with the W-760...but since I don't have any large capacity mag cartridges, I am not too sure as to what you can use to feed the 300 Winnie with, other than the RL-22 you have...I would suggest possibly trying RL-19 perhaps as well as H-414.

The only rifle I load for is my 6.5x55 Winchester.

I've tried IMR 4350, Alliant RL22, Hogdon's 4350 and Varget. I stick to Varget now. It gave me the best accuracy and consistency.

I load for 8x57, 30-06, and 223 and so far Varget in the 223 and 30-06 have impressed the bejesus out of me...very consistent and lasts a while too...I also use IMR 4064 for the 06 and will start the 8mm on that this week...4064 and light 150 grain 30 cal bullets seem to go together like peas and carrots in my Featherwieght..light recoiling and decent velocity/accuracy combination.

For my 7mm-08, .308, and .375 H&H: IMR 4064. It gives both highest velocities and accuracy in the .308 and .375 of any powders I have tried, and second highest velocities in the 7mm, and the best accuracy.

In 7mm Rem. Mag. I like IMR 4831 for the same reasons mentioned above.

.30-06, IMR 4350...

Hmm...I see a pattern developing here.

Wonder if I am getting into an IMR rut?

That concludes my rifle powers on hand as we speak.
These cover the spectrum from .22 hornet to .458 Winchester

For everything it's got data for: Varget. Although for my 243 WSSM I'm trying RL-19 because it has the best velocity to pressure ratio and I've heard good things about it.

Thanks for all the input guys. It looks like IMR 4064 and 4350 are next on my bench.

Try more IMR's. They're old but good. IMR 3031 is really good with .30-30 and for lighter loads with the .30'06. IMR 4350 and 4064 are the standard military ball powders for handloading, and will work very well for the '06 as others have indicated.

I haven't yet loaded for my rifles (.44mag carbine doesn't count), but the powder that seemed to be most common and have the most reasonable results was IMR4350, which I purchased. Then again, all my rifle reloading will be done for military cartridges: 6x55, 7.5x55Swiss, .308NATO, .30-06, 8x57.

I load the following Rifle calibers
338 Win Mag
30-30
270 Win
25-06
243 Win
22-250

H4831
H4350
H414
H380

IMR4350
IMR4064
IMR3031
