I posted in the Identify the S&W revolver thread about three weeks ago. I guess being an older thread, it doesn't get looked at much anymore. Anyway, I have a S&W .38 caliber six shooter. It is a square frame, 6" barrel, six shooter with pinned and recessed cylinder. It doesn't have a model number and the serial number is K 90104.It has adjustable sights and the stocks are numbered to the gun. Thanks in advance.

X out the last two of your serial number, make it K 901XX, and pictures help out a ton.

Your post in the S&W Revolver Date thread has been answered. Go there and check.
Couple things.....
It appears to be a 5-screw K-38 Target Masterpiece with Speed-Hammer and diamond Magna grips. That would tend to date it well before 1969. Also, if its a .38, it wont be recessed, only pinned. If it WAS made in '69, then it would be a Model 14 and marked as such inside the crane area on the frame.

There is no model number on the crane. Also, you're right it's only pinned and mot recessed.

Yes, S&W only recessed the cylinder on the magnum and the rim fire revolvers. Yours is chambered in 38 S&W Special, so not recessed.

You are correct, I made a huge mistake, I apologize. I will correct the post in the date forum.
