What SA to conceal C3

I need some advice. Just completed my Concealed Handgun Lic. class here in Texas & will be purchasing my first Semi Auto pistol for conceal C3. I want to purchase .40 Springfield XD or a Glock. My CHL instructer strongly suggested a Kimber (too expensive) or Springfield XD which I can get at the local Academy for $529.00. I am a beginner at semi autos.

I already have HD covered w/ 12 ga. pump action Winchester 1300 (Defender) w/ #4 buckshot.

What's "conceal C3" mean?

And really, the only way to find out what you should get is to try shooting some at a range. All we can do is tell you what we like. Find out if there is a local range that will let you rent guns and try taking a few of them for a spin.
