Hello. I have several weapons in my arsenal. Ten altogether. I would preferably like to buy my next weapon around these ten guns:
1. Mossberg 500 Pursuader, 12 Gauge 18in barrel
2. Remington 870 express, 12 Gauge 18in barrel
3. Ruger 10/22, .22lr (this has been customized)
4. Glenfield-Marlin model 75, .22lr ( ionly include it b/c I own it. never shoot it)
5. Marlin 1894, .44 magnum
6. Hi-point carbine, 9mm
7. Yugo m59/66 sks, 7.62x39mm
8. Mauser kar98k, 8mm mauser
9. enfield #5 mk1, .303 british
10. Mosin-Nagant M38, 7.62x54r
I really want my nexr gun to be a rifle, and fill a void. I looked around, and I'm not too thrilled by the AK variants, due to their sights and accuracy infamy. I want rear apeture GI style sights, though. budget is roughly $500.00 I'd settle for one of the following:
1. vepr k, 7.62x39 (heard its a lot more accurate)
2. M1 Carbine (I love WWII guns), .30 carbine
3. M1 Garand, .30-06
4. Century Arms G3 or FN FAL, .308
5. Armalite AR-180b, .223
6. Wasr-10 Hicap, 7.62x39 (I see this for $299.99 at dunhams all the time. I would like to hear comments on this one)
I know all rifles listed serve different roles, but I want a shtf type rifle for deer hunting and defense. Gun has to be capable of 3moa or it is just not worth its weight. I have several bolt guns that each cost less than $200 that can shoot straighter than that. Any comments would be greatly appreciated, and advice given will be heeded. I only want one of the 6 b/c I already have 10 guns, and a lot I never even shoot as it is. Thankyou

Well, you have most of the important WW2 battle rifles and I agree with the other posters that an M1 Garand would make a dandy addition and keep you on a collecting theme.

Another vote for the Garand.

Also, if you want to qualify to buy a CMP Garand, you will have to go shoot in a high power, CMP, or John Garand match - a great experience even if you don't get into serious competitive shooting, you will have fun and learn a lot.

A CMP Garand is a wonderful thing.

I have a couple CMP guns, and I have never shot a match. There is a list of other things that qualify you besides a match, including printing out a form, driving down to the range, and having the RO sign off that you aren't an idiot with guns.

While I love my garand and am very happy that I have it, I would put forth that you need to get an AK. You have a WASR listed, and while they are very nice weapons, you can get a VERY nice AK for $500.

Look into getting a SAR-1 (for 7.62x39), or even nicer, a SAR-2 or 3 in 5.45x39. I have a CUR II in 5.45 and I absolutely love it- it is accurate and has almost no recoil.

It's a good time to get an AK as they are still plentiful and cheap, but because of the new restrictions on importing barrels, they will soon be going up in price, and won;t be coming down anytime soon.

Also, if you are looking into getting a CIA CETME (they are not G3's, the CETME was designed in Spain by German engineers before the G3) I would get the CETME, and not the L1A1 that Century imports. While I do not have one, I've been on this board for a long time, and I have seen countless posts of people moaning about how much of a pain that junk of a rifle is. Century has a history of not doing very good work on their imported rifles, but if you want to get one, I, and many other members, can give you a guide and some pointers as how to check out the CETME's to make sure you are going to get a good one.

while i love the garand,u said shtf so i say vepr k 762x39 with 20rd hungarian amd65 mags.

you already have a yugo sks so you stock the rounds.just be sure to hop on those mags before they are gone.id sugest getting 20 of em if u can.

Why no handguns, are you not 21 yet? Get one of the guns chambered in 7.62x39 or 7.62x51, much cheaper to feed generally than a 30-06. If need be, I'd sell either the Mossberg 500 or Rem 870 as both basically do the same exact thing and shotguns are versatile. Use the cash to find a long barrel for hunting and trap shooting and pocket the difference towrds a rifle though shotgun spare barrels can get pricey.

30-06 isn't the cheapest round to be feeding a semi-auto, but Garands sure are fun.

AKs are fun, and an AR can be built for $500.

I just spent my money on a WASR-2 from AIM Surplus cost me $279 + shipping. I've been wanting a 5.45X39 mm rifle for a long time.

What about a CETME, I've seen them selling on various boards for between $350-399?

$500.00
1. vepr k, 7.62x39 (heard its a lot more accurate) Proably
2. M1 Carbine (I love WWII guns), .30 carbine not likely
3. M1 Garand, .30-06 almost impossible
4. Century Arms G3 or FN FAL, .308 almost not possible
5. Armalite AR-180b, .223 barely possible
6. Wasr-10 Hicap, 7.62x39 easy, but I'd spend the extra money on one of the better AKs

There has been some problem recently with finding ammo in 7.62X39 and 5.45X39.Buy a Romanian AK in 223,get a POSP 6X scope to go on the side rail mount, and make sure you get a 5 round mag for deer.Ammo is everywhere, cheap, and you'll have enough $$$ left over for about a thousand rounds of Wolf HP.Good luck

Ewww, why would you consider anything century. If you want a g3, go JLD. if you want a FAL, go DSA.

What about an AR-15?

Of the ones you list, either the Garand, or (dare I say), the WASR. It depends on what you'd want. Everyone needs a Garand. But I have a feeling you'd shoot the WASR a LOT more. And, it would share ammo commonality with the SKS you already have. But that's just the ones on your list.

If I had your collection, however, I wouldn't be making my next purchase a "deer and defense" purchase. You've already got two shortbarrelled shotguns and the SKS and Hi-Point 9mm for SHTF defense. The defense void in your collection is already filled by several guns it seems. I'd go for a quality bolt action deer rifle and scope if you want to deer hunt. Good luck with whatever you decide.
