Homeland defence wepon

I voted homeland defence wepon, and here is why. Most people in this country are not as self relient as the members of this board. I can just here the avrage sheeple saying to his/her self when the dept. of homeland security was created. " WOW, now we have a special dept. of homeland security, I FEEL SAFER ALREADY!!!" They can't or won't take care of themselves and depiend and EXPECT the fed. govt. and you and I to do so. I say " this is my homeland defence wepon, I'm doing my part to help the dept. of homeland security defend OUR country against ALL enemies, foreign and domestic. Sit back, relax, FEEL SAFE, watch T.V. I'll take care of you." Even if it dose not help it won't hurt.

Illinois used to make you state what the new weapon would be used for at purchase time for the record (ie. home defense, target shooting, hunting).

Arms is just fine. A little antiquated but still valid today (I don't go to the arms shop to buy some arms).

Get rid of the sporting and hunting bit. Sell that to Zumbo and the Brady. They say that they do not want people to give up arms for sporting and hunting.

The 2A is not about sporting and hunting, never was. As soon as you give up the ground that that the fight should be fought on we lose.

I agree with the antiquated argument. The fact is that the anti's are trying to de-legitimize firearms. They say there is one purpose And I quote, "to kill". In there eyes there is no other purpose. Sporting and hunting are legitimate uses and the one that carries the most water is self defense.
Here is the argument I use and they are at a loss to counter.
"If you are anti gun, You are pro criminal, pro rape. Disarming the law abiding public makes their job easier. Gun bans, Buybacks [Australia] are useless. The people who refuse to comply, If later they want to get rid of their guns, They have to do it in a less than legal fashion and this leads to more guns in the hands of criminals. The cities with the highest crime are the ones with the strictest gun control. The largest support that the anti's have, comes from criminals."
What we are trying to do is, Un-do what the anti's are doing which is making the gun look as menacing as they can to gather support and to try to breed gun ownership out of us incrementally. Look at HB 1022 and it smacks of it, With the rules on transfer.

If you really think the right path is to take a hard and unwavering stance. I am with you but it hasn't worked so far.
Yes we need the fence sitters to take our side. The way to do that is to Legitimize firearms and their use.
Otherwise we say, Assault weapons? Yeah, What of it. It is the same stance.

I will stick with "sporting Arms" and "Hunting arms" That is what i was taught in activism 101.
Something else I was taught by a man who has actually wrote pro gun Legislation, and I respect.

I have spent many sleepless nights and never ending days and my own money in the 2A fight. I could have bought more guns and gone shooting.

If I appear inflexible it is only because I am (at least on certain things). I never said that you shouldn't call your firearm whatever you want. I just don't think it is a good idea, especially if you are not honest in your belief that it is what you say it is.

Wouldn't you know it the wife saw the poll and voted for personal security device. But that is what she believes her 64 year old bolt action WWII battle rifle is, even if the antis call it an assault rifle. Hers isn't as Evil and terroristic as mine since it is not black.

I don't know. I know assault rifle has a bad ring in all of the sheep's' ears and all, but if some misguided fool ever has the misfortune to try and harm myself or my loved ones, he will definitely be assaulted by a barrage of 7.62x39 and/or 5.56 rounds.

It's all in who's doing the "assaulting" !
