The categories are:

Plus-Size Automatic: Long slide (relative to the service model, could be 5" or 6", perhaps longer) (ie 6" 1911, Desert Eagle, Glock 34), 45oz or more

Service size automatic, high capacity: Approx. 4" or 5" barrel, double stack, full size grip (ie Glock 17, USP 9, etc) 25-45oz

Service size automatic, single stack: Approx 4" or 5" barrel, single stack , full size grip(ie, Sig 220, 5" 1911) 25-45oz

Compact automatic, high capacity: Approx. 3-4" barrel, double stack, slightly reduced grip (ie Glock 19, USP-C) 20-35oz

Compact automatic, single stack: Approx 3-4" barrel, single stack, shortened grip (ie Commander 1911, Sig 245) 20-35oz

Sub-compact automatic: Approx. 3" barrel or shorter (Glock 26) 20-35oz

Pocket automatic: Sub-20z, single stack (Kahr PM, Keltec P32)

Extra-Large frame revolver: Approx. S&W X-Frame

Large frame: Approx. N-Frame

Medium frame: Approx. K or L-Frame

Small frame: Approx. S&W J-frame

All dimensions are approximates. Choose the category that best fits your primary CCW piece. This thread was inspired by a comment recently made to the effect of "no-one really careers concealed these full-size pistols every day, day in, day out" by a friend.

I carry some type of S&W K-frame revolver everyday. Sometimes it is a Model 10 or model 64 or a Model 19. They all have 4 inch barrels but, they all hide and carry just fine in a El Paso Tortilla holster worn right behind my right hip. And I also carry my Model 60 in the weak side front pocket.

Since we could only vote for one, my primary carry right now is a compact auto, single stack. Pocket gun rides along occasionally too.

It's a nit, but I would hardly put the Glock 34 in the same category as the Desert Eagle. it's only what--3/4" longer than a 17? And nowhere near 45 ounces.

And yes, that's my vote in the fourth-to-last category.

Beretta 96 .40 cal. SS w/ Walnut grips

40 S&W 95gr IQ HP
1500fps! This line of ammunition is loaded with the first intelligent bullet, made of an alloy (no lead) with a low specific weight. They're called intelligent bullets because they recognize the hardness of the target at the moment the projectile hits it, and in nanoseconds the projectile configures accordingly. Thus, if the target is very hard, the IQ bullet will have superior penetration while maintaining its weight and size. If the target is ballistic gelatin, it will not overpenetrate, transferring all the energy into the soft target, and breaking apart into three or four sharp fragments, each creating independent wound channels.

Why, almost anything on the venerable 1911 platform. So it's service-size auto, single stack pour moi. Generally at least a Commander size 1911, often a full size (5") ...

Carry

For one thing, I'll agree with JR, a Glock 34 is still concealable. I sometimes even carry one, though rarely. I really do like my G34, it's a good, fun gun and the only Glock I own and one of Glocks best.

Another thing, you can only choose one... I've been known to carry more than one. Mostly I carry a single stack small 1911 with a Seecamp BUG. Sometimes I carry a full size double stack Texas 1911, sometimes a Rinco.

IOW, the poll has no choice for variety of carry.

Lastly, when working around my property, I often have a long gun, along with the carried handguns. In that case, it's often an SKS D model (the rare one that takes AK magazines), or a 94 Marlin in .44 mag, or a 12 or 20 ga. shotgun...

So where's the choice for tag-along long guns? < grin >

Colt LWOM, looking for a Commander slde/barrel to use with the frame. Or a 2" J frame, depending on the situation.

Smaller is better.

I find myself carrying small single stack pistols.
My main three are: the P3AT, which is my "go to the local stop and rob" gun, MK9 Elite 98; which is my main carry, and the Glock 36, which is my "dangerous two legged game" (read gangbanger infested area) gun.

My Glock 26 is also in that mix somewhere as well!!!

Most often Kel-tec P11 configured as 9mm, 40 cal or 357 sig depending on mood. (Small, light, powerful, ample capacity, and yes, quite reliable.) P32 for shorts, t-shirt and sandal weather. Yes, I have other guns. :)
