i just finished building a 1911 for a friend. the gun is in 10mm and has a 5" barrel. it is really tight as a new gun should be. i put a 24 pound spring in it and it took all of my fat ass to rack the slide, so i changed it to a 17 pound spring with a recoil reducer guide rod. the gun doesn't like to feed from the magazine, but i expected that. i think the first 50 rounds will be on a single shot basis and if i wreck the extractor so be it. so now, old friends please chime in on the break in of a very tight 10mm 1911. it is every bit as tight as a new Les Baer which some of you will be familiar with. take the plunge, let me hear your thoughts.:banghead:
