What to carry

All of the above. It depends on the weather, situation and the occasion.

You should have allowed for multiple choice. I carry, or have carried 1911's, Glock's and both medium and small frame revolvers. I can't really say which I prefer over the others because it changes with my mood. Right now my mood is for revolvers, but next week my mood may be for one of the others.

My current carry gun is a glock 29 10mm, has been for close to five years now. I also carry my XD sub-compact 9mm from time to time but I prefer the G29.

Whoops, voted the wrong option. I picked DA/SA SIG/Beretta, should be #2 for polymer pistol.

HK P2000 in DA/SA, with occasional 1911 carry. But the 1911 is sitting at home more and more due to the weight advantage of the HK.

None listed. Make mine a Kahr K-series. I've been carrying the same K9 for 11 years and don't see myself making any changes any time soon. I really don't see myself needing more than the 8 rounds of +P 9mm it provides with my level of proficiency.

I’ve monkeyed around with 1911s (my nightstand choice) and had a brief stint with a G19, but I always come back to the compact ‘n solid K9.

Auto, normally, this one, specifically. CZ-PO1

BUT, if the urge strikes, this super accurate and reliable sidearm rides with me.

Invalid poll. How can you expect a representative sample of revolver guys to answer, as many probably never look here? Plus, you left out a category for such things as the SIGs with the DAK trigger, and other "DAO" autos. I answered "revolver" because it's true, but my DAK SIG P229R duty pistol, which I own, is a close second. I really love the 1911, but don't carry it much anymore.

The only one I don't (polymer) might be the best choice. Usually 1911 or DA/SA semi-auto. Sometimes a large bore revolver.

I've been a 1911 guy since my first exposure to it in the Marine Corps
in 1968. I have 3, but only 2 that I carry. A Colt Series '70 .45,
and a Springfield Micro Compact Loaded .45. Lately I carry the
Micro more than the Series '70. :D
