I was given this gun last year by a buddie of mine. It was his when his home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. He found the gun months later in a debris pile near where his house was. It was severly damaged when he gave it to me, rusted and full of hurricane crud. I worked on it for a few months trying to restore it. I still need a front sight if anyone knows where to get the correct one. Since then I've put approx. 300 rounds through it without any malfunction yet. But theres no identification markings on it anywhere, the only markings on the gun are the letters "UFC" stamped on the reciever behind the rear sight with a 5 digit s/n just rear of that. Any info would be helpful. Thanks guys....

It's a Universal, a commercial copy. UFC = Universal Firearms Co. The bolt lug being visible through the slide is a dead giveaway. Most GI parts will not fit.

Well.....that sucks. From what I hear Universal carbines aint worth much. Its still fun to shoot I guess.

Its not worth as much as an original GI (and doesnt have the historical appeal), but for shooting it isnt a bad copy.....though im not fond of the metal heand guards they use.
