Sorta off topic but not really, I would kinda like to know what kind of vehicles THR'ers use for those 3 or 4 buddies and a dozen guns type all day range trips.

I use a $1000 95 Pontiac Trans Sport van. Man this ride beats the crap out of any pickup I've owned for loading to the gills with gun stuff and spending a day at the range. I've gotten to the point where I leave my shooting stuff chrony, rests, bags targets ect in the thing at all times so come Sunday all I need grab are guns and ammo.

With oversized A/T tires and air shocks you'd be surprised at where a FWD minivan can go. I haven't had to take the Jeep to the range in almost a year.:D

I take my truck when I go to a range, which isn't very often. I am lucky enough to be able to shoot on my own property.

You are nothing, however, compared to some members. There are members on here who have dedicated trailers with reloading benches inside.

I am also not so sophisticated as you. I don't have a chronograph, or anything fancy like a table or a rest. All I've got are guns, ammo, targets, and safety gear. I'm a bit minimalistic...less crap to carry.

Supercharged GM sedan (3800 Series II V6 w/Eaton M90 blower) with cold-air intake, 180-degree thermostat, and Autolite 605's. And Premium Sound playing U2's "Elevation" (the Lara Croft mix). :D

The road to my range is paved, though...

Xterra. It's what Chuck Norris would drive to the range - if he needed to practice... which he doesn't. Sorry Chuck. I didn't mean to imply anything.

Usuallyit's a $1000 1988 Volvo 240DL that I got from my work as a lein sale. I can get the guns, ammo, rake (to clean up my brass), sodas, amatuer radio & my 2 boys to the range & back home again alot cheaper on gas than my truck & the radio is still in the Volvo, guess thieves don't like Blaupunkt lol.

with scientifically proven speed-increasing racing stripes

What does caked-on red clay mud under the fender wells do for performance?

Don't ask me why I am asking.... :)

I go to an indoor range. I take my 1976 MustangII in the summer and my 1976 Chevy trailering special in the winter.

How long have you been watching Chuck Norris? It would have to be a Dodge 4x4.

I use my 2007 Satrun Ion It is only me going to the range in it so I lay down the back seats and pile everything in to the back of it.

I buddy of mine has an old beat up hardley any paint left 85 S-10 Blazer with that worthless 2.8L v-6 that is the goud hog range truck.

I did have a buddy with a 20' trailer with a complete relading set up small genny and a cot to sleep on for his yearly pdoggin trips to Montana and South Dakota. By complete reloading set up I mean everything press, dies, scale, tumbler, fridge for the brews and water, lights, reloadign manuals this thing was one mean pdoggin machine. I tried to get him to paint it something other than white but he would not.

Depends if we are going out to private land Jeep Cherokee 4x4 1994 4.0 L straight 6 242q/in.
Commercial range, Saab 900 S 5-speed with enough trunk for guns and all the ammo, also a 90's model.

Since I wrecked my Ranger 4X4 on black ice in February (totalled it) I've been forced to swallow my pride and drive the commuter... 2005 Neon SXT in light silver. Four good things though, the trunk is very big for a subcompact, 33mpg WITH the automatic, really good low end power (hemi heads and 16 valves), and most importantly the stock stereo in these is phenomenal. Of course it was on closeout brand new in 2006 and cost us 11,700 loaded so the payments are nice.

Bought an old 4runr for range / rough duty and fixed it up. She's not pretty but she does her thing.

well, its either the 94 Tbird or the 06 Focus (wifes car). The 73 F250 is too bad on gas to bother with unless I am towing something.

Ten-year-old Mazda MPV for range runs, my near-antique Holiday Rambler motor home to go to the hills, dunes, or coast. A generator and A/C are not optional in south Texas, they're required.
