My first firearms purchase was in 1970 it was a Mossberg .22cal bolt action rifle, bought it from Sears . . . . . . And I still have it tucked away in my safe.
S&W M19-4. I recently gave it to my niece after she bought her new house. If anyone starts a 'Did you ever have second thoughts about giving away a gun thread ', I will list the same gun. Oh well, at least I can still visit it from time to time.
My first was a Henry Arms AR-7, purchased at a gun show when I was 18. My folks have a neurotic fear and hatred of firearms (they're perfect parents otherwise), and so I never had guns around when I was growing up.
And to answer the obvious question: The parents were enraged.
first gun - a BB gun - a very long time ago . Wish I still had it
first "real" long gun - a Remington wingmaster 12 ga. pump bought in the early 1970's . Had to sell it when I was desperate for money once - still regret selling it . Have since then bought a Remington 870 express . A good gun but not as nice as the wingmaster .
first handgun - Ruger SP101 357 2.25" barell - great gun but I wish I got the 3 " barell
First one I bought was a Ruger 10/22 right after my 18th B-day. Walked outta that store grinnin ear to ear. Killed many a can, bottle, and a couple of gophers with it since.
first gun i ever bought was a savage .17. I had just turned 18 and wanted something better for squirrels and groundhogs than my dads marlin model 60. First handgun, a springfield xd in .45 acp.
My first was a Colt Combat Commander .45 in stainless, back in '89. I was actually looking for a Springfield M1911A1, but having read a review of the Commander by Massad Ayoob, I jumped when I came across this one.
First gun I ever bought, meaning paid for with my own money, was a Model 94 Winchester. First gun I ever walked into a store and bought without Dad doing the actual buying was a Browning High Power when I was 21.
the first gun i purchased is the 3rd i've owned. not much to brag on, Bryco 59 9mm. I bought it for $140 about 6 years ago. I won't sell it, but I probably won't use it anymore, yesterday, i bought a Ruger P89D, shipping time is 10 days or so.
