First Gun: .32 cal. handbuilt flintlock rifle. Curly Maple stock with a red stain and iron furniture. My dad bought it from from guy he worked with who bought it from the guy who made it. It's name is "Amanda"
First "Modern" rifle: Ruger 10/22 "Wal-Mart Special" when I turned 18.
First Centerfire Rifle: High Point Carbine (had lots of issues with it. Eventually worked them out and sold it.
First Pistol: Ruger MkII bought it on my 21st birthday.
First Centerfire pistol: Some .45ACP S&W Police Trade pistol. Ammo was too expensive for me so I sold it.

A BB rifle from my dad! (RIP):( I still have it.:D Now the first one that I purchased for myself was a Kel-Tec P-11. I liked it alot but sold it. Wish I would have kept it though. Might buy another one soon.

Ithaca M-66 SuperSingle 20 ga., (A lever action single shot shotgun.)

My son has it now.

First handgun. Smith & Wesson Model 19 "Combat Magnum" 357, 4" barrel.

Like an idiot I traded it off. :banghead:

My first gun was a Mosin-Nagant 1938 Carbine, 7.62x54r, that I bought cheap. I wanted something that would go bang, and it fits the bill. Kicks like a mule, doesn't feed well, and I can't hit crap with it, though.

My first pistol was a Sig P226 9mm. I was looking for a duty gun for security work, and the Sig felt right in my hand. I didn't want a Glock, or some other polymer gun; I wanted something with heft, something I could get my whole hand on. And the P226 is surely that. Ironically, I never had the opportunity to wear in on a job. Still glad I bought it though, especially since I got a used, factory refurbished one for a very good price.

First centerfire pistol - Glock 17 -- sold it when its 17rnd mags were $50 a peice :) -- of course, later they went up to $75+!
First rimfire pistol - Browning buckmark standard - sold it to fund an HK P2000.
First centerfire rifle - RRA NM 20" AR-15, still have it
First rinfire rifle - CZ452 silhouette, still have it
First semi-atuo shotgun - Remingron 1100 tactical, still have it
First OU shotgun - CZ greenhead, still have it
First centerfire revolver - Taurus 627, sold it when I decided to sell all my revolvers

First pistol I ever owned was a High Standard .22 target pistol I was given as a high school graduation gift.

First pistol I ever purchased was an FN roll marked High Power.

First gun, Daisy Red Rider, not sure what happened to it, and I didn't shoot my eye out with it. Second, Benjamin .22 pump up pellet rifle, still have it, still shoots, it's 45 years old now. First cartridge gun, .22 Caliber M512X Remington tube fed bolt action. Still have it, still a tack driver and has killed a 55 gallon drum full of squirrel, no doubt. First shotgun, JC Higgins pump .410, traded off. First handgun at age 16 Hawes .22 caliber single action with .22 mag cylinder. First center fire handgun, Ruger Security Six stainless 4" bought in 1978. Traded for a Blackhawk I still have in .357.

BTW, I've got a couple of M66 taurus revolvers, 4" nickel and 3" blued and love 'em, superb accuracy.

Technically, I might have lied. In 1974 I bought a CVA Colt '51 Navy replica. Not really a "center fire", though. Call it, first "large caliber" handgun.

taurus

It was when the 40 caliber first came out. The reviews hyped it up ssooooo much and made it out to be the best thing ever. So I went out and bought a 40 cal. taurus, it was a knock off of the Beretta 96. It was OK, I ended up trading it last year after keeping it around because it was my first gun, but then realized it just sat around in my gun safe and that is gun abuse. I don't miss it and learned a lot with it, it was and still is the only 40 caliber pistol I've ever owned and perfer the company of other calibers.

Ruger 10/22... Got it from my father for christmas when I was 12... I still have it in the safe.

1st Sears/Daisy 1894 carbine in about 1974 (Still have it)
1st real gun a Savage Model 24V 30-30/20ga (1973) I bought it in 1998. (Still have it)

rem 742 woodsmaster 30.06 handed down from my dad when I turned 12. Have used it 16 years now for whitetail hunting.

I was young and did not know any better. My first gun that I bought was a Desert Eagle in .357 Magnum. I traded it for a new West German SIG P220 about a month later.

But my first gun was a marlin .22 LR that my dad decreed was mine when I was 5 or 6 years old. I still have it and have since declared ownership or the .22 LR to my son.

I got a no-foolin' Daisy Red Rider BB gun when I was around 12.

I got a Rossi snub-nose .38 as a gift from a friend who found out I was interested in becoming a shooter;

And my first gun purchase was after I started looking for something that could do nightstand duty, carry duty, and not be too large to carry or too anemic a round to stop a goblin. I saw the Taurus P-111 and liked it, until I read this forum and TFL for opinions/experiences/reviews. I then discovered the Kel-Tec P11, which was okay out of the box, and had the potential to be a fantastic 9mm S/A with a little home 'smithing, thanks to the advice and direction from KTOG and Yzguy at www.1bad69.com/keltec .
That's one purchase I have NEVER regretted, and I've added 4 other KT handguns to the stable since that time.

Probably more than you wanted to know. :D

Kahr E9 single stack 9mm auto. Bought about 4 years ago. Im a pretty new shooter compared to most people on this board :)

About 1959 I bought a RG .22 short revolver for $10.00. I was 10 years old. Literally wore it out shooting everything from rocks to bottles to sticks or whatever.

H&r 22

First handgun was a 22 H&R 6"barrel pull the pid & drop out cylinder in 1946. Cost $28, 50 cents a week on lay-a-way, when I was about 12 at O.O. Ruftys Hardware in Salisbury, NC. They didn't even ask my age, no parents were with me.
