What was your first revolver?

My first revolver was a Dan Wesson 15-2VH. .357 magnum with a 6" barrel in blue. I think it was 1978.

Like this one:

Sold it for food in the early 1980's and regretted it. My Father in Law purchased a similar one with a 6" and 4" barrel and put it under his bed....I inherited it when he passed. Apparently he always regretted me selling it (as much as I did) and made sure I'd get another one.

Here it is in a box with a Smith and Wesson Model 19 he left for me as well. Been a little over 2 years. I still miss him and shooting with him.

Taurus 669 6" off a guy who needed x-mas money. I was never a fan of revolvers... a friend of a friend told me about the Taurus and the price seemed right and it came with ammo. I enjoyed shooting it with memories of my fathers Rugers in my mind, promptly bought a S&W 13-2 4" a few weeks latter, being dissatisfied with the quality of the Taurus... have been looking for a 6" S&W or Ruger for many years now. With in a year of purchasing the first revolver was just as shocked when my EDC changed to a snub nose model 10-5, then another "pretty" 10-5 followed and my wife jumped in on the snubby world with her "Bonnie" Colt Det Special!

Colt Python, bought new in 1959 as a young GI. It was $125. Ser. No. which I still remember is 6306. When I rotated home from Germany in 1964 I sold it to a very close German friend and he still owns it today. I get to shoot it every time I go over.

5.5 inch colt single action. it was a first generation made in 1903 that had the half cock notch broken off and you had to hold the hammer back to load and unload it, very unsafe but what did a 16 year old kid care as he was shooting a real man,s revolver. i pair 38.00 hard earned dollars for it in 1958 and oh how i wish i had kept it. eastbank.

Ruger Redhawk .44 Mag I "think" with an 8" barrel. I can't remember because that was a long time ago. I really miss that revolver. It had a nice Weaver 2X scope that held its zero perfectly.

My first two revolvers are the only ones I've sold, a Smith 66 2.5" and 686+.

I replaced the 66 with a 64 3" and the 686+ with a 686 Mountain Gun. All my other 12 or so revolvers I've bought I kept.

Smith & Wesson K-22 Masterpiece, given to me by my Dad on my 21st birthday in 1969...gun and I were both born in the same year.

Like it so much that I bought another not long ago so both of my sons will end up with one.

Brand new S&W K22 in 1950. I was 14 at that time. Saved pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters in a bunch of old Prince Albert tobacco cans. Friend of mines father ran a sporting goods store and sold it to me for 60 dollars including sales tax. My mother had to sign for it since I was under age. Still own it.

I liked and like semi autos so my first wheel gun was in the middle 1970's more than a decade after my first handgun and was a Blue Charter Undercover .38 Special. I had fired and carried Dad's Nickeled or chrome or whatever shiny stuff coated Undercover and liked it so I bought one new from someone that needed money and did not like it. Also bought a Bearcat from the guy and like an idiot sold the Bearcat after a bit to help finanance something else with Ruger stamped on it. The Charter worked fine and still does OK. It is my wife's favorite revolver of what we have (OK she would like a 2 1/2 inch Python tricked out like Mas Ayoob's competition snubbie she shot in one of his classes but no major lotto prizes yet) I have shot a lot of stout 158 grain SWCs through it and it is still kicking. SWMBO has it with Silver tips in it at the moment and a couple or three reloads.

My first experience with a center fire wheel gun was with a Spanish SMOLTish .38 revolver that looked like a S&W Model 10 out side and more like a Colt inside and was truly a piece of junk. We fired it with another kid's Cop Dad's old belt loop rounds that we found in a jar in the garage. We scrapped the green stuff off to get them to chamber and most of the rounds hit the back stop. Thus Semi autos for a dozen years........

9 shot H & R Piece of junk. Early 60's (dates me doesn't it ) Mainspring broke within 6 months but I sold it for more than I paid for it.

Next was a S & W 19-2 in 66. Still have it and will until "they pry it from my cold dead fingers"

My first revolver is a 1895 Nagant. Probably one of my favorite and most used handgun purchases!!! 92.18$ out the door @ Cabelas last year. After spending the time to clean all the cosmolline off it is a BLAST to shoot. Double action pull is right aound 19lbs, however the single action is pretty nice!!!! Got me thinking I need to spend more time with revolvers!!!!
