I have ammo for the ones I own but how much is enough?
I often wonder about this, as "as much as you can afford," or "Until it fills your basement" are not realistic answers.
I say for a SERIOUS handgun, 500 rds each is bare minimum. 100 of which should be premium JHP's.
This does not mean you buy 500 rds, shoot 450 of them, then go buy another 500 rds. No, the 500 rds is what you always have on hand. If you want to go shoot, buy some more and shoot THAT. Don't dip into the 500 rds cache.
For a serious rifle, 1000 rds is minimum.
