Ok, this is my first post and I was looking for advice. I currently have my Ruger LC9 listed for sale/trade and had a few people offer to trade me.

First off my LC9 has had a Galloway Precision trigger job done to it along with their lower powered trigger springs. I also added a set of Traction Grips to it. Otherwise it is stock.

- I had one guy offer me a Mosin Nagant with a rubber recoil pad and 380 rounds of ammo which I am guessing is surplus ammo. There are also 25 Russian stripper clips and the cleaning kit. He wants to do an even up trade.

- Next is a Ruger 10/22 1993 stainless steel with a 10, 20, and 30 round magazine, 100 rounds of ammo, and a hard case. Wants to do an even trade.

- Then I have had a couple of people offer me $300 for it. I had it listed for $375 and I know that might be a little high but it has only had about 150 rounds through it if that. I have about $480 or so into the gun as I bought it new a few years ago.

So my question is, what would you do? Should I keep looking? I really like the Mosin but don't think it is quite worth it. I haven't seen any pics or got any details on the Mosin either. The Ruger I saw the guys listing for it and it looks really clean. But again, I don't think it is worth it. Maybe I just think my gun is worth a little more but maybe it isn't. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I appreciate everyone's opinion.

I also have a Glock 19 Gen 3, a Maverick 88, and a Ruger SR22P, and an older New England 20g my Grandfather gave me.

You have already answered your own question. The fact that you are not leaping at either trade says your LC9 is worth more TO YOU than either of the other guns. Never swap until your heart races at the offer.

I'd take the $300.

Typically people don't want to pay for any upgrades you've done. Kind of like chroming out a Harley, the buyer is glad you bought all that chrome, but they're not paying you for it.

If you're not happy with any of the deals I wouldn't take them. You didn't mention why you're wanting to sell/trade the pistol.

Stick with the $375 or as the others have said, wait for a trade that you really want.

Thank you all for the responses. I understand the chromed out Harley analogy. I am mostly putting it up for sale as I am bored with it and figured I would see what I could possibly get. I don't really want to sell it for cash but I might have to as I am unemployed right now and have bills to pay. But I have other things I could sell if I have to I guess.

I don't really know what I am looking to get for it. I once had a Russian SKS that I got screwed out of. I was 18 years old and paid $100 for it from my friends Dad. It was beautiful. I gave it to a guy to sell for me as I was working at the time and didn't know anyone to sell it to and didn't know about any of the websites I do today. Long story short he screwed me out of it for $40 I think it was as he said he wanted to buy it and was going to make payments. One of the regrets of my life and a hard lesson learned. I really wish I could have reported it stolen or something but it has been about 5-6 years since that happened.

But as I was saying, I wouldn't mind trading it for an SKS possibly but now-a-days everyone wants $500 for an SKS. I can still get them for $300 in stores. I just don't get it, but then again I don't get half the crap I see anymore with guns period. Everything is so crazy. No ammo and guns listed for way more than they are worth. It needs to end but I should stop myself now.

I guess I would like to get an SKS or maybe a snub nose revolver, or some kind of bolt action rifle that is larger than a .22. I really don't have a specific gun that I could do an even trade for that I really want. It is more or less a feeler. Again, thank you guys for the responses. It really does help as I am the type of person who can't make up their mind sometimes lol.

Both offers have so little value that this is nothing but a bad loss for you. You can buy a 10/22 for $229 or less. Mosins are not nice guns and only have value because of the panic; they are $100 guns in normal times. Also consider that 4" groups at 100 yards is considered good. The only reason I would ever own Mosins would be to arm the neighborhood during an emergency.

I recommend that you do not trade. The modifications guaurantee a financial loss unless you are trading it to a friend who understands the value. Buy good stuff so you don't buy twice. Trading good guns away for surplus guns is never a good idea unless you know exactly what to look for. Always trade up, even if you have to make up the difference with some cash. A good trade may be that LC9 for a Glock 26 with night sights and $50. The 26 would be a great choice since it accepts G19 and 17 mags and fits in the same holsters.

Keep that Ruger LC9 and you will have a nice carry gun in the future. You never know when you will need something smaller than a Glock 19. It could be your BUG or "travel EDC" so if it is lost by an airline, you won't be out much. I know it is tempting to trade, but you will find jumping from gun to gun gets expensive due to costs of the gun, mags, holsters, and other gear.

Coming from someone with a LOT of experience

I trade all the time, not so much sell, because i like to try out different guns. The number one rule is BE PATIENT! There are enough of us out there that want to try YOUR gun that a very good trade will come along. Believe. As for the mosin deal back off that... That guys talking about MAYBE 225 bucks worth of stuff. The way i see it if he has 300 rounds hes probably shot at least 140 by now and do you know how well he cleaned the bore when he was finished? If its surplus youd better hope pretty good. The key to a good trade is getting someone either highly desired, or completely unique. And believe me, theyll come along with patience.

I'd hold out for your asking price, especially with the upgrades.
$375 is more than fair and anyone shopping around for one will snatch it up.
Most of the ones I see for sale are that before tax.
Those trade offers are lopsided IMHO.

I have several 10-22's. Most I ever paid for one was $179 new two years ago, used anywhere from $25 for a total beater to $80 for a really nice one. Unless there's a really expensive aftermarket barrel on the 10-22 there's no way I'd trade a LC9 for it

Thank you all. I have got a few more offers, but I have one guy who wants to buy it and I told him I would come down to $350. Supposed to sell it tomorrow so we will see if he flakes or not. Again, thanks for all the support.

Here are a few other offers I got:

Taurus 66 .357 4" barrel w/ 4 speed loaders and about 44rds of .38special hollow points

Remington 597 VTR w/ 2 30rnd mags and a red green dot scope

Ruger MKIII 60th anniversary edition

I thought about it. My grandfather has a SS hunter with fluted barrel and it is really nice. It looks like they are going for about $300-$350 right now.

Yeah, the MKIII is the only thing you have been offered so far that I would even think about.

I'm looking for an LC9 as a concealed carry gun right now, your asking price is certainly fair. Like someone else said, the only firearm you've listed I would trade for is the MKIII. Otherwise I'd stick to your asking price.

Thank you all, I ended up selling it this morning for $350 which I think was a fair price.
