What would you do with 55,000 rounds of 22LR??

Remington .22lr sucks.

I took full advantage of the panic early last year to unload all 6,600 rounds of Remington Golden Bullets that I had sitting around because, well...they SUCK

I wasn't going to say anything, but, well...boy did they suck.

I hear they are better now than they use to be...but I'm not going to give Remington a single penny to find out. No way I'm rewarding them after the utter crap I already paid them for. Chalk it up to that whole "fool me once, shame on me..." thing

If I had 55k rounds of Remington .22lr I'd firesale it.

If I had 55k rounds of CCI standard velocity or mini mags...or Wolf M/T or M/E...or anything Lapua...or...you get the idea...I'd be shopping for .22lr chambered firearms.

I would help the local 4H shooting program,,,

The Local 4H clubs are hurting for .22 ammo,,,
So if I had 55K rounds hanging around,,,
I would get them up and shooting.

To many people whining just because they can.
Well I gotta confess - I (fortunately) haven't shot much of it as I did my research first.

Had a friend that just got into shooting - he called me complaining that he was having about a 25% failure rate - I asked him what kind of ammo, and he said he had 3k rds. of Thunderbolt. Told him to give it a try in multiple firearms - I know he tried his 15-22 and a couple of Ruger 10-22s with the same result.

He planned to dump it all and replace with Winchester, Federal, CCI, etc.
Heard from him a while later, and he told me he has no idea where that Thunderbolt is (and he's the organized sort).
I guess it's a good news, bad news thang...
The bad news is he lost 3k rds. of ammo.
The good news is it was Thunderbolt! :D

When I hit the gun shop, the salesman jumped on me and told me he had some Thunderbolts in. When I didn't bite, telling him I've heard too many bad tales 'bout Thunderbolts, apparently he fessed up and showed me where the bullet rotates in the case (I'd heard this from numerous folks).

'Net chatter seems to indicate much of the same as I've experienced in my little world.

That and the fact that Freedom Group sucked Remington up are enough for me to walk on by...
