Don't overlook an airgun. Principles of marksmanship are the same.
If everything closes down and I need to put a wild rabbit or a Turkey in the oven, my Remington 22 pellet gun is probably what I'll use first for that...and a hatchet to finish it if it still ain't done. Part of my reason isnt just to conserve ammo, it's to keep quiet. I put trapping ahead of shooting for food getting, up to and including deer. But that's only if things get that bad. Traps, spears, knives, axes..all good when used in tandem.
