There's one in my local shop, they're asking $85+tax. The stock has been cut to just under the front band and tapered down. The barrel has been cut down to a handy length and a new thinner front sight blade addded. Looks like a legitimate front sight job. The bolt has been bent to about 45 degrees, and the barrel has been polished of all markings except serial number. The bore looks ok, not rusty, but not amazing. None of the numbers are matching. It's a round reciever. For what it's worth (if anything), the guy who works there said it's been in and out a few times whatever that means, and that he shot it and it shoots pretty good.

I offered 80 out the door but they declined the offer. Is $90 otd a very good price for this chopped up Mosin Nagant?

If it holds a decent 100 yard group & functions properly, yes. Where else will you find a $90 big game rifle?

if i offered 80 o.t.d and they refused that would be the end of my curiousity.

i'd just by a unbutchered 91/30. (for about the same money)

That's about the same price for a armory reissue before mods. This is one case where I don't think bubba is going affect the value too much ;)

Just go find a 91-30 with a good bore. Unless it has a super good bore and all the number match... not forced either... I would not even give it a second look.

I wouldnt for 85.00; 50-65 IMO. If you want it to shoot, get them down a little if you can.

Dont buy it and think you'll sell it easily though. You'll hear all about how it's not original! :scrutiny:

I'd go over Bob K by a nickel. :) $50 would be my top bid. If you still want it next year, it'll likely still be there. If you want it now, see post #3.

chop a 90$ rifle, the value is only in parts and the eye of the beholder.

50$-75$ , but ONLY if the sights are on....why did Bubba part with it anyhoo????

My friend bought on last christmas with all the accessories and a very good bore for $110 otd. The shop had a dozen of them at that price. $85 seems high for one that has been modified. JMHO.

Ok thanks yall i just wasnt sure if it was more valuable or less valuable being modified. Glad i decided to leave it there.. I already have a m38 and a 91/30 so this one just peaked my interest due to its uniqueness and potential to be a cheap rain gun. Originally they were asking 99 and bottom dollar was 85+tax. I might just hold off on this one, thanks for the replies!
