I've seen this rifle on gunsamerica and gunbroker for around $399 and up. One was as low as $385 but that was a a bidding one. You've also got to pay shipping on some of them and also the $25-$35 transfer fee. So that rifle goes to around $400 and up.

I can buy one new from a store for $399. Is that a good price? I googled this and saw that someone got quoted for $309 back in 2014 ( http://www.300blktalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=91244 ) but I haven't seen any prices on in recently.

This $399 is a 'sale' price, with the rifle normally being $450. This store's sale prices are notoriously known for being the same as everyone's everyday price. However with this sale price the rifle would be about $55 cheaper than ordering one online and paying for shipping and handling and the FFL transfer which adds about $50 to the full price. So, it's not a great sale but it is what it is. I called the 3 local mom and pop gun stores I know and none of them had them in stock and their prices seemed to be about $410-$430.

So, is this $399 a good price or could I find it someplace else cheaper or if I waited a few months could I get it cheaper someplace else?

At least one local store is advertising them at $389 out the door including tax. Most places are right at $400 plus tax, some as much as $450. I don't think I've ever seen anyone asking over $450.

If I wanted one I'd pay the $399 if it were the best deal I could find locally. You might save $15-$20 by waiting. I'd rather be shooting than worry about $20. I wouldn't pay $450, there are too many selling closer to $400.
