Doug S.....Man I REALLY like the looks of that man cave of yours.

Looks like I will have a bit of a project this fall for that sunken living room complete with fireplace!

Thanks RVN11b. I appreciate the kind words and good luck with your project.

Dude, I've suggested the same thing for people's WORK places here and THIS big piece of professionaly framed art is what I have hanging behind me in my office at work!!!

That's a nice painting. His attention to detail is superb and he generally makes sure the proper firearms are featured in his work.

I Nagant would be ok, but a flintlock or Civil War musket would be better. I have an old double barrel shotgun with the hammers.

Some might suggest an ex-wife, but I think an obsolete gun like a short chambered damascus barreled shotgun would be perfect.

If it's spotted and stolen, no regrets if the thief blows himself up trying to use modern shells in it. Perhaps a full box of magnums on the mantle might improve the display.

Well, these days I have the TV over the fireplace.
I wouldn't want to advertise my interests with a gun on the wall anyhow. But then the bookshelves are probably a giveaway with shooting books and my few trophies.

I once read that a frontier cabin would likelier have a gun over the door than the smoky old fireplace.

It won't go to me when the current owner hands it down, but I'd love my great-great-grandfather's Kentucky long rifle that's been hanging over the fireplace in our family's ancestral farmhouse as long as I can remember. I've got the perfect fireplace for it.
