Beautiful photos. How hard does that .54 pistol kick? I've had my eye on the Queen
Anne and the Rogers and Spencer for a while now. Wonder why Pedersoli isn't
promoted more in the US?
Thanks for posting the photos.

Heh, Freedom Arms used to recommend 1 grain of Bullseye in their percussion versions, if BP wasn't easily found.

From their manual located at http://www.freedomarms.com/MiniRev.pdf:

I'd be curious to know what the ballistics were for that load and a 40 grain lead RN bullet. :)

Allison, you said gentleman. I don't know if you were talking to me or not. The balls I use in the Mag mini revolvers are the ones I bought from North American. They're pre-sized and all one has to do is just seat them using the little tool. No wad or Crisco or anything is required. They seat and seal real good. (I reckon they seal good. Haven't had any problems yet) The black rubber grips I put on mine have the red hour glass on them but I don't remember what they are called. I have the small wooden grips that came on them put up here. I've got the black leather clip holster for the right side and one for the left side (inside the belt wear) but I use the black nylon ankle holster most of the time when I use a holster at all for them. Most of the time I'll just drop one of them in my shirt pocket if I'm carrying one of them at all. To tell you the truth if I'm carrying concealed I usually carry a Colt (Uberti) 1849 Pocket .31 with the four inch barrel. I'll just drop it in my front pants pocket. It fit's good and no one notices. Sometimes in the winter I'll drop it in one of my coat pockets. I have full authority for carrying but for a small compact 'tuck away' I prefer the .31. (you have my permission to laugh)..(.323 balls, Triple Seven 3fff and Remington #10's)....Oh, PS..The ankle holster was black when I received it. The 2 inside the belt clip holsters were brown. I dyed them black....

its unfired as of yet , just got done building it , along with the others, the Tyron is fired .
But , I am sure the .54 is only as bad as you load it ! :D ..I am sure 25 to 35 grains aint nuttin , but 50 to 75 grains will knock you a good one . :D
Hope to find some time this Fall to run some tests on um .
I always thought the Pedersolis were quite well advertized here ? 1/3 of the rifles sold at Dixie are Pedrsoli . Even Cabelas sells many , espcialy in the retail stores , there is a bunch here in town . But, as noted ebfore , Pedrsoli doens't import all of what they make , which is a drag . Some of that is supply and demand am sure. What we think is a demand for them , is not market share enough for them to import them . I liek the Queen Anne's also, very elegant weapon , indeed .
The Rogers are very nice, especialy if your thinkin of ggetting the fancy built Pedersoli ones, world class there .

Cheers, Jaeger

Gentleman of the Charcoal...Yes, that was me. I was wondering if you used conicals or do
they make balls in .22?

These ones I use are conicals, swaged at one end for proper seating and sealing. To be honest I don't have any idea where one might find 'regular' swaged round lead balls in .22 caliber. Never tried to find any. I don't even know if one could find a mould to cast their own or not. I'vd got a pretty good supply of balls and I might shoot one cylinder full out of one of them maybe once a year, maybe every year and a half so I haven't been doing any worrying about it. Sorry Allison....

The Queen Anne is a pretty nice pistol. Should be easily available here in the U.S. I got mine at Dixon's.

They do require a bit of tweaking, as most BP guns do. The vent needs to be opened up to about 5/64", and the trigger pull is quite "military". It's easy enough to lighten the sear spring up to get a decent trigger pull. Due to the tumbler geometry, the trigger will be loose and rattle when the lock is at rest and at full cock. It is tight at half-cock. Ignition can still be somewhat problematic even with the vent opened up to 5/64", but last range trip I started using a vent pick while loading, and so far it has gone off every time I dropped the cock.

It's not a gun for great target accuracy, as it has no sights. It is a .50 smoothbore with a cannon-bulge muzzle, so it's more of a "point and click" shooter. But I bet it would be a blast with a load of shot. I know that's on my list of loads to try (as soon as I get some shot from a buddy that reloads shotgun shells).

On sale at Dixie right now

too, for $335 , seams like a real good deal for the price , especially on a
Pedersoli one .
Obviously they are in stock currently .
The other one I think are kinda cool are the Murdock Scotts Pistols . I dont; knwo why I like these kinda guns ? Maybe because they are interesting and used for real at one time and are being made still ?

Also on a side note, whatever .22 for that revolver measuress , you should be able to match that with whatever SHOT is available also. 000 buck or whatever it Mics at . That would be a very cheap way to have ample RB on hand at a very good cost per pound for that littel gun . As a kid I used to test hardenss of the shot from dads loading supplies ( dont ask me why :D ) and I could aways bite shot down so its probably soft enough in a stainless gun anyways .

It would be tough to find shot to work in a .22 cal. The smallest buckshot, #4 buck is .24". Most likely, FF (.23"), F (.22") or TT (.21") shot would be the right diameter, but from what I can find, they are not available in lead.
