I just got a mailing from Tinderlighter. Well its from Dixie Gun Works. As some of you know I've been wondering for some time how to compare BP's. On page 2, there is a Dixie Powder Tester pistol! Then there is 20 pages of other stuff I want for Christmas. So I began to wonder what the guys [and gall] of THR had on their Christmas list. I may have been a bit more naughty than nice though. Dag nab it! More coal...

For my accumulation, I still need a bunch of Ubertis, all of which would come from DGW:
#3 Russian .44
Bisley .38-40x7½"
Flat-top .44-40
1851 Richards-Mason
1860 Richards-Mason
Navy gripped Open Top .44x5½"
Remington New Army .45Colt

A nice ten point or bigger would be nice taken with my Single Action Army!!!! I'm hunting close to the Ohio border here in PA and I'm just hoping one of those Ohioian monsters migrates over here. But, if not, a home cooked meal is good!!!!!!!!! :)

Merry Christmas to you all!!!!!!!!!!!:)

The last thing I need is another firearm, modern or BP.

Having said that, I have a Pietta Colt 1860 Army coming. It will be a mate to an older Uberti 1860. (It's better to have a pair to keep each other company.) Recently lucked into an unfired H&R Buffalo Classic for BP cartridge. And there will be a LOT of round ball in all needed sizes under the tree.

But, nope, not getting a thing.

Actually, the best present would be comfortable weather for a day at the range and a picnic lunch with my wife.

Hoping all of my better-to-do-than-me kids send me enough Visa gift cards in order to procure a Pietta G&G .36 cal. That will give me enough pistol variations, along with my Pietta 1851 Navy steel .36 Squareback, to create 14 different pistols, 5 replica and 9 fantasy.

Maybe Cabela's will be kind-hearted enough to knock $20 off of their $220 price tag around Christmas (with free shipping!).

One can only hope but, if not, I will bite the bullet and pay the price.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all THR BP folks!

Jim

Take a class at Bowling Green next year and then attend the Nat. Matches at Friendship.

Wouldn't mind getting a Griswold & Gunnison or a Spiller & Burr revolver for Christmas. Always have had a thing for Confederate revolvers.

Two original cased Colt Patersons in mint condition
Two pair of original Colt Walkers in mint condition.
Two pistols with irrefutable provenance to Jesse James
Two fully engraved 1860 Henry's
Twp irrefutable pictures of Billy the Kid playing hopscotch or picking his nose.

The reason I want two of each is to sell one of each or each set, so I'll have plenty of money to live on and to buy other regular nice guns.:neener:

Cheers

A 6 ft long 8" billet of 4140, a lathe to handle it, and a 3" bit to drill the bore.

Or realistically some more AR parts so I can get closer to completing a build.

Better health so I can get back to training on a regular schedule. And time to shoot the BP guns I have, including a new to me Tanzutzu matchlock pistol. :)
