What's on your list of "gotta have at least one"?

I had 2 on the "must have" list.

1st one was a target grade .22, the ones with the magazine in front of the trigger guard. either a Walther, Hammereli or Benelli...
i finally found one, the Benelli MP95E and it's great.

the 2nd is an H&K P7M8

FWIW - My "Collection"

S&W 1911 5" Stainless STeel, w/mods to my taste
it's my primary caryy in a MIlt Sparks #Axiom Holster
CZ 75B - 9mm Parabellum/Luger
I want a few mods, on it and need a holster but it's
dead nuts reliable, and very accurate
S&W MOdel 60 3" Bbl. .357 Mag.

Range: until I get a vertical shoulder holster for each
S&W 625 5" Bbl. .45 ACP/.45 Auto Rim
S&W 617 6" Bbl. .22 LR 10 SHot CYl.

My next handgun will be a better CCW platform,
and I want a variant on the 1911, CCO or Commander
length 4.25" BBl /SLide on an Officer's frame.

Must have additional....

Colt Series 70 Goverment Model
S&W Model 27 5" Bbl.
Luger P-08
SIg 210
S&W 610 5" Bbl. pre-lock

and on and on....

WOW i have a long list but i think for the average joe gun collector

government model 1911
browning high power
Ruger MK III
S&W 10 or 36 or
S&W .357 (take your pick)
Colt SAA or copy (i like the vequeros)

and to think thats my extremely abridged short list

if i were to list what i think should be in my own collection id be here all night

Kimber Custom 1911

This is John Browning's masterpiece, and many people consider it the pistol design ever invented. So to me it ia the " apex " of what a gun collection should, and must, have.

I like Kimbers because they have a great reputation, quality, accruacy, and reliability.Plus ,the basic model really isn't that expensive.
I do require that it does feed Speer Gold Dots reliably though.....:)

lightweight .38 (S&W 442)
small steel .357 (Ruger SP101)
small 9mm (Springfield XD9 SC)
1911 (Ed Brown Kobra Carry)

A Colt steel frame something or another because I am such a sentimental.

A Bersa, because we share nation of origin.

A Glock, because it is cool and tough.

A cheapo small .22 (walter goofy looking thing cannot remmember the name) to plink.

that is the autos

My "to do" list is easy. One of each caliber with a 1911 and a Glock in there somewhere. I also don't belive in safe queens so I do and have to shoot them all on a regular basis. So far I have a 1911 .45, a 1911 .40S&W Commander, a Glock .357Sig, a 1911 Commander 9mmP, a sub compact 9mm PM9, a .380ACP, a .32ACP, a .25ACP and 2 .22LRs. Missing is the 10mm and .454. In revolvers all I have is a 2" snubby .38 Special. Missing is a .357 magnum and .44. There are too many variations in revolvers to get them all and I'm not a revolver fan as much as I am a semi auto fan. That's just the handguns.

Everyone should own at least one 1911. If there is a must have pistol it is the definately the 1911. Anything else would be a distant second.

1911 (check)

Glock 17 (check)

Stainless .357 revolver with a 4" barrel and an unfluted cylinder

Ed Brown Kobra carry stainless

CZ 75b stainless

Ruger Mark III

Springfield XD40 SC
Browning Buck Mark .22 Match grade w/ stainless barrel
.357 or .44 Magnum (haven't decided on the make yet, but that's a ways off anyhow)
Browning Hi Power
Bersa Thunder .380 (I think the Mrs. Pants would like this one)

In that order. Of course when it comes to guns, I'm like a kid in a candy store and prone to being distracted by something new

Need/want:
BHP
SIG P220
10mm 1911

Have several 1911s (one a dedicated .22), one glock.

I need a good small auto. Had a PM9, didnt like the short grip. Looking to get a P9 or K9 when I see a used one in the case.

Somewhere along the line, I'd like to pick up an all-matching Luger -- likely a Mauser-made war-time model. I've long ago given up on finding one for a reasonable price, however.
