It is a pandering point for the DFL to get left voters in most cases. In other cases, such as Obama, he is actually dumb enough to believe gun control prevents gun violence. Laws are created to prosecute people after the crime has been committed. Laws don't actually prevent crime... gun violence or any other type of violence.
Dr. John Lott was on the news the other day and said the annual number of gun deaths aren't all that accurate. The numbers include suicide, police shootings and accidents. No honest reporting in the media.

Nope. Obama is a lot of things, but stupid isn't one of them. He knows exactly what the end goal of gun control is: Confiscation, disarmament and subjugation. It's been played out too many times all over the world to believe otherwise.
