To those who have an STI Spartan in 9mm, what do you think of it. I know STI has a very good reputation in general, but what about this model in nine?
Any problems? As accurate as your 1911s in .45?

Thanks.

I don't have the Spartan, but since nobody has responded yet, here's some related experience. I have a pair of STI Ranger IIs, one in .45 and one in 9mm. The accuracy is close enough on mine that I can't tell the difference. I have 3 STIs and will likely have a fourth in the next year or so. The third one is the Shadow.

I believe the Spartan is the only 1911 model STI doesn't make entirely in house. They have a 3rd party make the major components and then final assembly, fitting, added STI parts, etc. are done at STI. All the reviews I've seen for he Spartan have been good, but I haven't seen any for the 9mm yet.

Thanks G.
I thought I'd get a little more response than this. Nobody's got a Spartan in 9?

I've had a few come through but I haven't shot one yet. I'd buy one with confidence though, if it doesn't work (and I'll bet it will) STI will make it right.

Sorry I do not have a Spartan 9mm, I do have an old Colt series 70 9mm and love it. I have aproximately 5 more days to wait (been 19 weeks) to get my STI Trojan Custom pistol in 9mm. They should work well with the Wilson Combat ETM magazines, the Colt does not. STI has a great reputation, for pistols that work well right out of the box. IMO if you have access to a Spartan 9mm then get it while you can.

Had a play with one. Armscor frame, STI innards. Non ramped barrel.

Fairly close to a 'traditional' 1911. I liked it, would pay a bit more for another barrel though.

Very nice, Commander. Now I really want one. It would probably mean selling two pistols to make it work and have some money left over for a trigger job on my XDm.

If you can't find one locally you can always find them on Gun Broker. I can pay shipping and transfer fees and still come out cheaper than my loacl guy.
