What's the most obscure handgun you've ever carried?

Maybe not a very obscure model the AMT Backup .45 ACP. Due to reliability issues it quickly left the stable however.

Rig

Probably my Davis Derringer...22 magnum. Just dropped it in my jeans pocket right before I walked to WAWA in my old neighborhood ( NE Philly )

Hey Bill...speaking of CAS...you got a rig for that "cowboy" yet !?

Kevin:
No, not yet. Don't think I will - unless I get hooked into CAS - hmmm, maybe I'll join SASS...:uhoh:

Before it dropped out of my holster and knocked the rear sight off in the bathroom, I've sometimes carried my Walther TPH as my "I'm running to the store for milk" gun. Yeah, it's a .22lr, but the gun, 5 mags and 31 rounds all weigh less and take up less space than my empty airweight j frame. ;)

confed sailor - I also carry a nagant around the place with 32 sw longs. Can't really tell you why, but I really love shooting it.

When I was 11-12 years old I used to carry a Marksman BB pistol Mexican carry while riding my bicycle. Rode over to an old abandoned dump site and shot until I ran out of the tube of Daisy BB's.

I couldn't imagine what would happen today if a 12 year old did that.

Back in the late 80's I carried a Randall General Curtis LeMay model for a while. It is a Stainless .45acp with a commander length slide on a Colt Officers ACP size frame. Later Kimber would reproduce it as the Stainless Covert. I have one of those too. A few months later after some research I discovered how rare and valuable it was,so I retired it. Now it is a safe queen in its factory Ken Air pouch.

Also carried a Walther P38K for awhile, but it only fed FMJ reliably so it was retired too.

The other obscure one I sometimes carry is a Sig 210 that was customized by Joe Bonar at Novak's....now that is a sweet shooter. But really almost too valuable to carry. Tim

Someone handed me a .22 Mag Freedom Arms miny revolver at a range once and I almost shot my finger off firing it...it was so small (I have big hands) that when fired the small blast from barrel singed the top of my trigger finger.. hurt like hell!

This weapon is designed for a woman or a smaller-hand user! Seemed pretty dangerous to be, and more lethal to person firing it than perhaps anyone it was aimed at due to its small caliber....

I have carried many--but the most obscure probably would be a spanish 6.35 called a BERNEDO--one step above junk but quite obscure LMAO

Didn't Carry It For Long

But around 1971 I carried a Webley-Forsberry for a short time... huge thing... fortunately it was winter.

FWIW

I'm live in New York City. Could someone please explain the term "carried". I just don't understand. Sorry, Princecookie

1. Oldest - a US Revolver top break 5-shot nickle plate revolver in .38 S&W with the plating worn off in many places. Spit lead out around the forcing cone with every shot when I finally got rid of it.

2. I too carried an H&R 732 snub nose revolver in .32 S&W Long for a time. Not bad but I definitely felt undergunned with it by the time I replaced it.

Not sure about rare, definitely tiny...the good old Beretta Jetfire in .25 ACP.

That thing can fire its nine rounds so fast and reliably (usually Gold Dots, now) that it's more like a single shell of OO buck...delivered sequentially. :D

Astonishing that something that little fits the hand that well, and who couldn't like something with the name "Jetfire"?

As for the .455 Webleys and the heavy bullet they throw, that's not shooting someone, that's hitting them with a high-speed brick!

Webleys

Speaking of Webleys there was an occasion when I carried a Webley Green. This was a target revolver from the 1890's, so called beause Green thought up some of the modifications to what was then the basic Webley design. At that time they were the target revolver to beat.

I was advised to use 45 Colt cartridges in it. Being young and ignorant I did so and eventually the forcing cone cracked so I sold it for peanuts. Now I see them going for $1200 to $1500. Live and learn.

German semi auto

orteigies .32 cal semi auto pocket pistol //in my pocket...8 round magazine..backup to my ccw weapon...

OK, I'll Play..

High Standard (??) derringer in .22Mag

Super Blackhawk...the 7-1/2" barrel square trigger-guard version

At another financial low-point...a CVA "Prospector's Pistol" single-shot cap-n-ball .44 got it as a kit for around $30

CVA 1858 Army Remington

Charter Arms .44Bulldog snubby

I'm sure there's another odd-ball or 2 , but that's all I can think of right now.
