I was just wondering what everybody else is paying because until recently its been around $20 or so for 500. Dunhams put it on sale for $1.50 a box so I decide I should start stocking up. Its coming on its second week of being on sale. Its gets sold out every day they stock it and they only stock it twice a week.
The $1.50 stuff is rem thunder bolt and Federal. I've been picking up the federal I picked up 750 one day and plan on getting another 750.

federal 550 value packs and remmington "golden bullet" 550 packs are both around $13-$14 at walmart

Federal 550 packs @ Walmart are $15.47 + Tax here in Houston

Remmington are about the same... Though never in stock.

Bought a brick (10-50ct boxes) of CCI standard velocity at Dicks for $25 + sales tax yesterday. Walmart seldom has any 22 ammo in stock. But yesterday I purchased 2 Federal HV HP 550-ct bulk packs for $15.47 each. They had a lot of Remington Thunderbolts in stock in ... 350 ct bulk packs; now that is new packaging I hadn't seen before. Didn't notice the price although unlike many, I do buy Thunderbolts as a reference load. Makes me feel better when the more expensive ammo shoots better.

Most gun shops sell everything for more. I would too if I were them.

All in bulk packs
Remmington Golden Bullet pack ~$20 at Dunhams/Dick's. They also have boxes of 50 of thunderbolt for ~$2 a box

Wally World federal bulk ~$14. I think they raised their prices a dollar or so recently

Mejier (Michigan grocery store) ~$20 for some winchester stuff I've never seen before. They also have the Winchester 333 pack for ~$11.
(Meijer is also selling some ammo I've never heard of before in a orange and black box. 50rds 115gr target ammo of 9mm flavor for $24.95:what:)

Wal Marts on the North side of DFW seem to have pretty consistent stock of Federal and Remmington bulk for the last month or so. CCI Mini Mags too. I've bought a bunch of both but there is usually some left when I'm done.

As others are posting, the bulk stuff is about $15.

When you can find them winchester 500 xpert hollow points are $16 at wal mart :barf:. It's awesome ammo but its goten WAY more expensive since I first started buying 22 ammo, I used to get 500 rd boxes for $7-8-9! should of stocked up :banghead: !

Yeah I seen the winchester 333 for $10 something, but meijers wont sell me .22 to because im 18 but dunhams does. The 333 of winchester is $15 at dunhams. The 3 walmarts that ive been to havent really been stocking up on any kinds ammo; pretty empty shelfs. I honestly dont have a .22 yet but im stocking up so im ready for when I get one. Christmas is comin up.

Walmart stopped carrying guns and ammo when they moved into a Super Center. Kmart is out of .22. The gun shop wants about $22/500 and Cabelas is a little less.

Consulting my ammo spreadsheet

I have bought 11000 rounds of federal 550 packs for an average of 15.10 per box

500 rounds of CCI Velocitors for 5.50 per 50

the rest has been "buy and shoot" misc stuff that I dont keep track of.

My advice? No matter what the price, pass over the Remington Golden Bullets.

geez Mustang Steve where do you live? that is VERY high on the 9mm.

9mm around here goes for 11.50 a box, or 19.99 for 100

pass over the Remington Golden Bullets.
+1. Remington has a very bad reputation in rimfire. Dirty, and a high rate of duds.

I use CC-1 mini-mags that I get a W/M and I've been very happy $5-$6/100.

dom1104, St. Petersburg, Florida. It was $23 a box until labor day passed.

Hell my box of Remington UMC JHPs was $32! The price for SD ammo is so insane that I'm using the cheap stuff.

I don't count wal-mart prices since the stuff's never availible. .22LR and shotgun rounds are flowing like water from there, but everything else is drier than a sahara afternoon.

Ammo prices out here are dictated by the big shops that buy out everything cheaper than them....thus prices remain stupidly high. I'd love to practice double-taps with my 9mm, but all I can afford to do now is practice with my .22 revolver.

I don't know about the stores, but I dug around in my supplies last night and found an old(er) brick of Win Super-X with a $7.95 price sticker on it. I wonder how long I've had it... :)
