Question for you - I have this gun

WyimN.jpg

I found a write-up about a similar gun on a website that states the following

An early Belgium Copy of a Smith & Wesson Frontier style First Model Double Action Revolver in .44-40 Winchester cartridge. It is so marked on the top of barrel flat and, besides proof marks, there are no other markings but 37 for serial number on cylinder and reverse of left grip. The barrel measures six inches and has a very good shootable bore. This is a top-break, auto-eject, double action six shot revolver based on the S&W Patent Style. The action functions fine, strong hammer spring and lock-up is tight, single action also works well.

I have no use for the gun and will be selling, any idea what a piece like this is worth? thank you

Sorry, but it's really not worth a whole lot. The Belgian copies of the Top Break Smiths were inferior. Believe it or not, the Spanish copies were better. Notice how there is only one hard edge to the locking notches on the cylinder. They relied on the hand, rather than the bolt, to keep the cylinder from rotating backwards when in battery. Maybe worth a couple of hundred dollars at most. Personally, I wouldn't want one.

The real Smiths were the best. Here's mine, chambered for 44 Russian.
