Who's hand fits the finger grooves on Glocks?

Is the webbing of your hand rested directly under the beavertail? Those that don't like the grip/finger grooves result from improper holding the frame.

I love the finger grooves and Glock frame. It's a firearm, it doesn't have to fit every need but do its job.

I bought my first Glock in 1988 it was a 17L 3.5 trigger. I had Glock bring it up to snuff a while back. It is my favorite it shoots really well and I like its grip.

I am an expert shot, I like many pistols, I have seen others that have been helped by the newer design, they still are not as good a shot as I am, don't need them to assist me.

The thing about the 17L is, it is a 9mm I like more powerful ammo and for that job I go for the Mdl 21 with numerous barrels to provide that assist. 10mm 45 and 400 Corbon. If I want more I go to other hand guns. My 44 Mag has after market grips and have some finger groves...

I was thinking of getting some hogue wrap arounds when shooting the 10mm and the 400 Corbon for they both shoot higher impact with the same hold as the 45 acp, has to do with lots more than the grip. Someone has said they slip around. I like the mdl 22 in 40 cal and 357 Sig, early/older model there also.

cowssurf - the finger grooves came about for BATF points. Molded, finger-groove grips = target grips to the Fed one-stop shop. If doffed, then Glock couldn't import the Glock 26.

Which to me, doesn't matter, since I first fondled an M&P Compact, but let's not get into that urination comparination.

Desertscout - that's your work! Man, you make Glocks come out PRETTY!

OOOOH! And you make the "26L(ongslide)" - ie: a 19 slide with a grip deux to 26 size.

The pink one - I like. It looks tasty, like a peep in gun form, and it's sure to make Mayor Bloomberg irate. Totally wonderful!

Mine aren't even in the ballpark. They're for wee people with thin hands. I have thick stubby hands for working with herd animals and root vegetables :D

I have the same problem with my G21 because I have small hands. One day I said what the heck and took a razor blade and simply trimmed off the peaks of the finger grooves. Then I took some fine sand paper to smooth it out and applied a some grip tape. Man that thing sticks to my hand like glue. If you can do any simple whittling on wood, you have the skill to do this. I've even done my G26 the same way.

don't let the sanding marks fool you, this is my project gun for learning to use Duracoat. the Grip is smooth but I applied a couple of different coats of Duracoat and it was toooooooooo smooth so I rough sanded it. I just posted these so you could see how easy it is to remove the finger grooves.

Mine didn't fit right ..is why I also dremeled the grooves off and used a modified hogue to place the grooves where I wanted them ..fits like a glove..

flyby,
I'd certainly would go that route before buying a new model 3, (if I just had to have one with the finger grip, the grip looks much more user friendly, for a bigger finger/handed person. Have you experienced slippage with it?

^ I used hair spray when installing the hogue, hasn't moved since(in probably a few hundred rds) ..I've also heard of people using a wrap or two of cloth tape underneath w/the hairspray,or even a mild rubber cement for extra hold.

The Hogue grip has had most of the Palm Swells removed/reduced and the edges beveled with a dremel copper brush..also a light brushing/sanding throughout the hogue for a uniform finish on the rubber surface(kinda a silky suede type feel to it now..only hogue rubber seems to be able to be shaped like this without turning into a mess).

Much to my surprise/delight this gun really did end up being one of the more comfortable handguns I've ever owned ..or handled :)

I've had the Hogue grip on my 1st Generation Glock 17 for about 20 years and it has never moved. It fits my hand perfectly and makes the Glock easier to hold with wet/sweaty hands. And as you can see, my Glock gets lots of use.

I have a G19, the wife has a G26 and G34, all of them fit my hand. Actually the Glocks are more comfortable in my hand than my Kimber.

ETA: I have always strongly disliked the frequently encountered, Gawd-awful, (often) alcohol-inspired, amateurish "stippling" jobs that seem to leave the gun looking like it needs a 'shave'.
While I wasnt drinking when I stippled mine, I won't argue about it being ugly.

Like the glock itself, it aint pretty, but it works.
