I thought my husband was a good shot until we took our NRA Basic Pistol/CCW courses. I got a 100% (not really hard...) and he played second fiddle to my shots. A month later...he was still telling everyone willing to listen about my shots. Then we went to a game night. He told everyone there too what happened at our course, how I outshot him. Well...to some, carrying a gun did not sit well. I noticed it on their faces and I "listened" to their comments. My oh-so-proud husband was too busy talking to listen. That night I told him and explained to him that our CCW is supposed to be a secret and he better stop telling everyone about it...it was like talking to a 10-year old :banghead:But this "10-year-old" is an obedient one. :rolleyes:He has since stopped talking about me and my shots and Annie Oakley...:D

Girls can shoot !!!
Here's my 10 year-old daughter. She was slaying every target we had until I got the camera out and made her think. :)

This was only about 20 yards, but it really helped her confidence (notice the disappointed face after the 1st shot). Next year we are back to 50 yards, after that she will need something more than a Crickett.

I dunno but I never found shooting a 22LR shooting particularly challenging. The most challenging pistol and long range shooting I have done is with higher calibers. Correct me if I am wrong, but all some of the technical and mathematical forms of shooting cannot be done very well at just 100 yards.

Although , women may be better shooters than men in many ways, I found it is diminishing returns with higher calibers, longer distances and during action shooting.

I still think men make better action shooters overall, something about coordination and speed. At least from the cowboy shoots I have seen. Not trying to be sexist here, just my observation.. Most of the women there shoot better than I do anyhow, but I am not an cowboy/action shooter.

Women probably outperform men at close range shooting, because they stay focused better and don't worry as much (about shooting). Also, most women are not concerned about winning, they are concerned about being accepted. When your goal is to be accepted, somehow in back of your mind, you have less to lose. Men still try to be heroes which gets them in trouble a lot, causing stress, panic, anxiety and slops your aim.

Of course, many will claim the Russian women snipers could easily outbeat any of our American male snipers, including Carlos Hathcock. Well, who knows.. The vietcong girls definately took down a number of our boys. Perhaps element of surprise, knowledge of territory had more reasons for this than skill, I don't know. Although, they were just armed with commie weapons. On the other hand, maybe our American male snipers were better, but its always debated that the Russian women soldiers were best on land and best pilots too.

For that matter, the female snipers in Eritrea made mince meat out of Ethiopian male soldiers in their war. Now , some may argue just stupid battle strategy of Ethiopian troops doing a WWI style charge against fully auto machine guns and rifles into the Eritrean trenches may have resulted in their supposed victory. Hard to say, but still nice to see women teaching men a lesson.

There is some women you just don't mess with:
