Guys, it's a FAL. Come on now. Eyes off chick and eyes on gun. May have to take the picture down...

NAK, I'll have to think about that duracoat job. Maybe I'll do that to a Marlin 60 and give it to her for a birthday present.

Geo, you know what they call an Aggie after he or she graduates, don't you?

Haha! Touche! That's a good one. I'm not a red-ass bonfire aggie, but I support my school and I enjoy what it stands for. Plus I'm practically getting PAID to go here. Full rides don't come around very often, so why not? :)

Oh, you thought I'd fall for the old 'you know what they call grads from my school, don't ya?' routine? bah humbug.

ah, but school's school. just be thankfull you won't graduate with a boat load of loan debt. My pops went to UT. I have friends @ the atm. Others @ other various and random schools all over. College is good for you. Just don't spend too much time at the Dixie Chicken.

nice piece though :D

Looks to me like she's going to be joining the Crescent Club if she fires it that close to the optics.

I'm a member. The first shot I ever fired out of a scoped centerfire (243 Win) got me good.

the worst thing about joining the cresent club is that nobody feels sorry for you. everybody just laughs at you while you clutch your head and try to keep the blood from getting into your eyes. never been there myself, but i've seen it plenty times... and no, i can't keep myself from rolling on the floor laughing either. =(

WinchesterAA: I'd be pennyless and saturated in guns I don't have space, ammo, or time for, and my girly would be pissed cuz she hasn't eaten in weeks and just shot off her last rounds and is jonesing for more.
I’d be willing to chance it!

Good work! Have you guys gone to the range yet? And just think, you already have an icebreaker when you meet her poppa.

In my experience at Purdue, there certainly isn't any shortage of attractive young women who would be stoked to go to the range. After winter break, I'm taking a few people to the range for the first time, its gonna be awesome! The only time I've ever been turned down by a range invite was by a girl from Chicago...where they are clearly much more civilized.

Daniel,

Back in the day, her dad went through a pallet of shells every few days while hunting ducks. He's hunted all his life, so we're always talking about that. He had two pallets of 3 1/2" 12 gauge shells left he was going to give me for Christmas (he sold his Benelli long ago), but I don't have any use for them.

I'm going to get her to the range one of these days. Whenever she comes down to my neck of the woods next time, I'll start her on the .22 and work up to my .223 Saiga. She hasn't shot a rifle since she was 7, but she fondly remembers sitting in her daddy's big rolling chair plinking away at cans in her yard with her dad's old .22 auto. I think a Marlin model 60 would be just perfect to start her on. And hey, it's a chance to buy her a gun!

Deerhunter,
Where did you get that magazine? Is that a 30 rounder? Does it feed okay? Oh yeah, cute girl tooooo.

Whoa, your wife doesn't want any guns?!? Man, I just bought my wife a PSL she wouldn't leave the shop without a couple months ago.:D 5'4", she looks sooo cute behind it while shooting:evil:.

Hey, Deerhunter

Whooop!
BTDT got the diploma. Nice FAL. My wife loves to shoot. The guns are technically mine and she gets to tell me which one she will be shooting today. Best time ever was when we both shot full auto in Vegas. She wouldn't play with the Tommy Gun, but she loved the MP5SF. I have the pic with her as my background on the computer and got video. Do that if you every have the chance. It's pretty cheap and fun as hell.

Jack,

Her dad can cook. She sometimes cooks.... But I promise I'm probably better in the kitchen than her!

Drift

Deer Hunter, okay with you if I close this down?

It's a good thread, but it's starting to drift into guy/girl territory beyond firearms interest.

It's not bad yet, so I'll leave it up to you.

Your call.

It has drifted a bit, so it's your call Arf. I think it's been used up pretty nicely.

You can go ahead and close it.

Did you meet her through anything firearms-related, or did you just happen to find a good girlfriend through sheer luck? :p

cobrian45, any chance you'd be willing to share the pictures or video from when you and your wife shot full-autos?

my girlfriend teaches me restraint. without her i'd spend all my money on guns

I am not in to being tied up or anything like that, so Ill just spend money on guns :neener::neener:
