Whats Yer 9mm Carry Load, and Why?

+P Golden Sabers...

the feed well, give good speed and expand/penitrate.

When I carry a nine ( S&W 439 ), I stoke it with Remington 115gr JHP +P, but I have also used Federal's 115gr JHP (9BP) load. This ammo is readily available in my area, it is accurate and reliable.

124 Grain +P Speer Gold Dots. They have a good reputation and I've put 175 of the recalled ammo through my CZ and no malfunctions occured.

I can't carry because I'm in MD, but when I use my 9mm (a CZ 75B) for HD duties I use Speer Gold Dots (popular choice here). I do not like to use +Ps for HD due to overpenatration issues, with those prices if Georgia Arms would make their Gold Dot loads in non +P pressures I'd consider changing over.

well, at the moment she's got one magfull of Cor-bon 90gr +P JHP, and a spare mag full of Federal Hydra-shok 124gr JHP. that's 31 rounds for those keeping track at home.

I haven't decided what I really want to use. the cor-bons seem like an excessively light bullet, though they're plenty accurate. I worry a bit about over-penetration, with them, though. I was using 147gr hydra-shoks, but I decided to go with a little more speed, but not so fast as the cor-bons. I guess I should shoot 'em both and try out the gold dots. my MK40 loves them in .40 S&W.

Glad You Asked-

For me, its the infamous "Secret Service Load"!:) :uhoh:

Looks too be either the 115 grain or 124 grain JHP loading
from Federal Cartridge Corp-

I just happened to have a few rounds on hand that were
given to me by our local PD rangemaster. If they
good enough for the SS; then I'm quite sure they are good
enough for me!:)

Speer 124 grain standard pressure Gold Dot in my Beretta 92D Centurion. From what I've read it appears to be a very consistent performer. Mike

Federal 124gr +p EFMJ, right now.

I've also got some 124gr Federal Hydra-Shoks lying around.

I think I may switch to the Cor-Bon 115gr JHP, though, having seen the comparative chronograph results.

Mag Tech Gold

Anything with 'tech' in the name must be super duper.

But no, really, in 9mm they have a very small initial hollow tip, so they feed just like FMJ's, even in pre-ban mags. ;)

124 g Hydrashocks. Just have a longstanding reputation for me. I'll be handloading soon so I'll probably try to make Gold Dot bullets work (like the concept).

115 Winchester Silver tip, was good enough for FBI HRT for years, oft lamented in the miami shootout but feeds well, its relatively inexpensive, shares the same point of impact with my practice ammo. Wish it was nickel cased though.

Back up is PMC 115 gr Starfire.. also feeds like a champ.

Most ppl I know use 124 gr Gold Dots, I like the attractive price of the Silvertips.

Federal 115-gr JHP (9BP). Because it's extremely accurate and 100% reliable, and has a good reputation. I plan to switch to Cor-Bon 115-gr +P whenever I get enough money to run a few boxes through my 3913 first.

Currently....Federal and Corbon +P/+P+ 115's...smokin fast, accurate and expand. Federal Tactical, Speer GD and Corbon 124 +P's I love the accuracy the Dots provide....they make themselves look "match grade" compared even to the "other most accurate 9mm rnds"......
I play around with Remington Sabers and +P+ 115's..proven to be a couple of very nice loads also.......

I really dont think in this day and age of bullet R&D, technology and powder tech....anyone makes a "bad defensive based 9mm" round anymore.....just me.

Shoot well

Winchester White Box 115gr JHP's - cheap enough to get PLENTY of practice with, accurate, and reliable.
