Whatever is cheapest in 9mm works for me.
I shoot reloads 95% of the time in the other
calibers i own.I do like Independence ammo
in 357 mag,$10.99 a box ay sportsman
warehouse and the brass reloads great.

S&B is the cheapest per box ammo there is the only draw back is they only have the heaveist grain in that caliber. Other than that its clean and the cheapest FMJ I can find anywhere.

I cast my own bullets, load my own, for well under 3 bucks a box.

Bingo. The partial answer is to Reload. The Full&Complete answer is to cast your own bullets out of free wheelweights as well.

I buy power and primers in bulk, use brass I've had for years and never worry or even think about the cost, really. 3 cents a round? Plus casting and reloading are wonderful hobbies on their own.

Hope this is a responsive answer for you. :)

I try to go with the least expensive FMJ brass-cased ammo I can get. This is what I've been working through.

9x18/9x19/.38 Special Fiocchi 95gr/115gr/158gr respectively
.357 Magnum Sellier & Bellot 158gr

I've been eyeing some US surplus 124gr 9x19, but haven't found the funds for it yet.

I don't use S&B anymore. The last time I did it blew up my Colt .38 Spl. The ammo was loaded too hot. I use wolf and winchester usa.

Arg, this is evil news! Which Colt did you have... and how badly was it hurt? Just stretched or are we talkin a KB here?

You hear horror stories about how dirty it is -- but I shoot a lot of Ultramax .38 Special. So, is it as dirty as the stories would lead you to believe? Yup. Does it leave heavy leading in the barrel? Yup. However, with some diligent cleaning, all is well. And, at about $30 for 200 rounds, it works just fine for range ammo.

WWB in .40 S&W and .45 ACP. If wally world is out of WWB I would use UMC but not Blazer since I collect brass for reloads.

For 10mm I mostly use new Starline brass that I collect and reuse.

For .500 S&W I have a mix of Hornaday, Magtech, and Corbon brass I reuse that came from factory ammo.
