What's your favorite .45ACP semi-auto(s) that really puts a smile on your face

This average Colt 1911 70 Series never fails to please. It bears the original WWI grips from my Grandfather's carry 1911A1, and it currently guards my father's casket flag. I shoot it knowing the sacrifice my father and grandfather gave to this country during two world wars.........

I really liked the fit and feel of my Ruger P345, but it let me down in the function department so I traded it away.
The CZ 97 is my current favorite. Though, I'd like to wade into the 1911 kool-aid creek someday.

the one that makes me smile is my les baer monolith...until i wrestle with taking it apart. for day in and out reliabilty and accuracy i really like my sig 220 that is about 20 years old. i have been hearing bad things about the new sigs but this old gun is reliable.

no pix yet, but my Bul 1911 is just plain fun - I always smile when an auto feeds every time, ejects every time , and puts big holes in a small area...

+1 more for the HK USP45CT.

Love the pic Thernlund, I'll get a can for mine once I move down to Florida:), I can't wait!

I second the Taurus. I just got the one with the rail and I liked it so much I went back and got the one without the rail too.

No Picture but I enjoy my Glock 21 it is very accurate, I shot it today with the 45 acp, 400 corbon and 10 mm, same gun, different barrels. It was nice.

I don't have just one .45 ACP autoloader that puts a smile on my face. My smile appears when a gun shoots accurately and reliably, i. e., no failures. So...my SIG P220ST, SIG P245TT, SA XD-45 Tactical, and H&K USP45 Expert all put smiles on my face. I wish I could include my SIG GSR Revolution, which is probably the most accurate, but it doesn't feed reliably. I have a few S&W .45 ACP wheel guns that also put smiles on my face, but you posted in the autoloader section.

No pics but I have a 3.5" Springfield Ultracompact .45 with hogue grips and 5" Kimber Raptor II. I traded off an XD45 to get a XD40 for ccw. Of the .45s the nod for grins per bang (gpb) goes to the 5" Kimber. The XD45 was a great weapon and if I had it to do over I would've kept it over the 3.5" ported Springfield. But the 5" Kimber has my heart.

My Colt Combat Commander, customized by Colt's Custom Shop. This included: bright nickel finish, MMC rear sight, Gold Cup trigger, accurized, and throated to feed just about anything. I added the straight Pachmayr mainspring housing and the Pachmayr grips. Without any doubt, my favorite .45.
