That Majestic Arms speed strip kit is very nice. That takes away my largest complaint about the Ruger.

I think I might have figured out what was going on with the S&W 22A. I was shooting it like my Glock. After the first shot I would release the trigger forward just a small bit until I felt/heard a click then squeeze. I think I saw on another forum that it tends to be a problem.

So the Buckmark seems to be harder to find, and a little bit more expensive. Really thinking about either a 22/45 or the 22A with bull barrel and hi viz front sight

+1 Bersa Thunder .22. Great value and fun to shoot.

Minutemen; Very pleased with my BT22. No issues with FTF or FTE using CCI mini-mags - definitely reliable. It is fun to shoot. Sites are adequate and fit/finish is good considering its price point. It feels somewhat small in the hand, but not too small (I wear a "large" glove size typically). It is accurate enough to be fun and "interesting" - but it's not "highly" accurate. I purchased mine via "Bud's Gun's" online and shipped to my local FFL. Recommend the full "blued" version over the coated/stainless finish. Others have reported this stainless coated finish flakes with exposure to ammonia based solvents.

Some thing in a 4" barrel and fires just about any 22lr round.

Sounds like you are looking for the S&W M&P22. This thing has been flawless for the past 500 rounds. I've put just about every type of ammo I can get my hands on through it. From the cheapest bulk to premium loads this thing eats it all. It's also sooo much easier to reassemble and clean than my old 22/45.

+1 for the buckmark - my daughter has the exact one Forumsurfer has - fiber sight and rubber grips - love it - 1000+ rounds not a single issue - very accurate - great trigger

i just bought a m&p 22 the other day. it has seen around 2500 rounds so far. i had issues with cycling that were my fault as i ran it wet. blowback operation + too much oil = sludge.im not going to say what i used but i learned my lesson. did a good cleaning and used a teflon spray lube that dries and it ate 750 rounds tonight with only 1 hitch. and 450 of those were cci standard velocity. this pistol prefers being racked over using slide release and i use 12 rounds in mags always. that dupont teflon lube is the same thing i use on my street bike chain, very clean and dry. very nice feel in my hand on this pistol....

Buckmark, Buckmark, Buckmark. Seriously, look at some of the other threads on this forum about how complicated a 22/45 or Mark III is. In reality, they both shoot great. It's mostly how they feel in your hands.

With ease my Buckmark has shot everything I've put through it. From 40 year old Super-X to the crappy bulk packs. Not to mention it's superbly accurate.

I own a Buckmark URX with front fiber that I bought new at the end of 2010. It looks exactly like ForumSurfer's pic. I tried the Hegis flip which works good.

I'd say if you want a Glock type angle and shoot those then go with the Ruger's. If you want a typical grip angle; M&P, Sigs, HK's... go with the Buckmark.

However I got to shoot the Sig 1911-22 and the M&P22 this weekend together. The M&P22 was very, very nice. What I've been reading on it has been very positive also.

I am considering selling my Buckmark to get the M&P22. However I might just wait for the Apex Tactical M&P 22lr conversion that's coming instead. Since I have the Apex FSS & Trigger set at 3 lbs. I'm leaning towards the Apex conversion kit.

However if you want to spend more money I hear the S&W 41 is a great handgun. I'd also check out the RimFireCentral forum since that's where I got most of my info from. Before my Buckmark purchase I went to the range and rented the Ruger MKIII and the Ruger 22/45 and I still ended up with the Buckmark. However that stainless Ruger Hunter was nice, the angle didn't agree with me.

Of course if I had more money, then I'd just keep the Buckmark and get the M&P22 right away. Even more money I'd get a 2nd M&P22 for others to shoot and also a S&W 41 for myself.

Another thing to keep in mind is, if you want to get an updated barrel with the Ruger you have to ship the whole gun in, costly. The Buckmark you don't since the barrel has nothing to do with the frame, ie. serial number. Also a downside, or good thing to others is the M&P22 has a fixed barrel, I think a negative though. It seemed very accurate, but I assume it can't be great at 50-100 yards like some of the aftermarket barrels you can put on Ruger's and Buckmarks let alone the ones tuj talked about.

So I'd say try to go to a range and rent as many as you can.

+1 on the cz Kadet upper. I have several dedicated 22's but the Kadet adapter on my CZ-75b is the more accurate than any of them.

I live my Kadet! 100% reliable and accurate.
