What's your opinion on the 243?

For you folks that claim no loading manual has a load using 50 grains of powder in a .243 you need to do your homework. Page 19:

My personal pet load in mine is 50.4 grains of N560 with a Hornady 87 VMAX seated hard into the rifling. To make you nay sayers really get your shorts in a wad I have chrono'd it several times and my average speed across 15 shots was 3380 fps on a 22" barrel. No flattened primers, bolt lifts easily, accuracy is 1/2 minute range and under, no more case problems with this load than my 55 grain blitzking and IMR 4895 (44.5 grains if I remember right).

I love the .243, wouldn't do without a good shooting one ever, great multi purpose choice for deer to groundhogs. anything bigger go with a 7 mag, anything smaller go with a .22 rimfire or a .204.

Read what I said...I said a Hodgdon load, and that is true; there aren't any [published] 100gr bullet/50gr. powder Hodgdon loads. :banghead:
