Alot of great rifles meantioned here, thx guys. The Hakim I do kind of want but it seems to be a big heavy beast.. is it worth it?

Also the SVT-40 is something I definately want but they are HARD to find and pricey.

wlewisiii: why all the different Mausers?

My "Top 10 C&R rifles" at present, in no particular order:

1. Winchester M1 Carbine
2. Inland M1 Carbine
3. Underwood M1 Carbine
4. Quality H.M.C. M1 Carbine
5. Rock-Ola M1 Carbine
6. Irwin-Pederson M1 Carbine
7. Saginaw M1 Carbine
8. National Postal Meter M1 Carbine
9. Standard Products M1 Carbine
A. I.B.M. M1 Carbine

I'd love to own a Sten but that's the future when I get a bigger safe.

Andhar, they are all different designs as Paul Mauser worked out the details. The 1871 is a very different rifle from the 1898 and I think it would be a whole lot of fun to have shootable rifles of the whole sequence from 1871 to 1948 (the Yugo which was the last one in production). There are a couple of duplications but that's because the given rifle (1908 Brazilian, forex) is a nice version. Except the 1916 - I just want one as a 7.62x51 trunk rifle.

I'm glad to see a couple of you guys have the Hakim on your list. I handled one but passed on buying it. I went back the next day when I changed my mind but it was already gone. They are really, really cool.

I keep checking the mail but my C&R license hasn't arrived yet.
Hopefully soon.

Anyway, my list of rifles to get (already have a Long Branch No. 4 Mk1*):
1. K31
2. VZ24
3. Swedish Mauser
4. No 1 Mk3
5. Garand (only this low down cuz they's pricy)
6. Mauser in 7mm
7. Yugo Mauser
8. Hakim
9. Mosin
10. CZ52 ( I know, it's a pistol. But I want one.)
11. Ishapore in .308

Why is the Hakim thought of as a cool rifle... When I looked at one It was a BIG heavy monster.

Sorry for all the questions, I am relatively new to this hobby and haven't gotten in the older stuff till now.

Got two slots left open...
96 Swede (or the 94 carbine or the 38 or a 41b)
K1911 or K31 Swiss

Iamkris, how long have you been building your awesome collection sir? Truly inspiring to all neophyte collectors.

Baba Louie beat me to words about the British "JC".
As for "iamkris", please don't encourage his photographic adventurism.
His rifle 'harem' :)makes me drool almost as much as Mrs. Field's Cookies and Megyn Kelly:) (on Fox).

Enfield #5.
Enfield #4.
Won't have a Garand until August.
If I learn to aim/shoot the Yugo Mauser, it will be on the list.

I have a very short list ...

1. Lee Enfield No4 MK2

... since I grew up shooting these. I honestly have no interest in any others with the possible exception of an M1 Garand.

:)

In no particular order:

1) K98
2) Mas 49
3) FN49
4) No.4 MK I
5) K31
6) M91/59
7) M91
8) SVT 40
9) Hakim
10) M1 Carbine

And for my wishful thinking list: TKB 022 :)

Plus enough ammo for a lifetime of shooting each of them daily.
