What's your unicorn?

Mine is just a Red 9 (mouser c96 in 9mm) in good enough condition that i can still enjoy a trip to the range with it.

also c96. there's a c96 carbine in 9mm at the local range for sale, asking $1500. if it's worth it i could dip into savings to get it... then i'd need a new unicorn

new unicorn will probably be a CA-legal semi auto Bren gun in 7.62x54r. not conversion, but built that way. A few months ago I was at the range when i saw it. the guy said it cost him $3600 and it was custom made in 7.62x54r. due to the noise I didn't catch who made it...

$3600 would come the way way as the C96... dip into savings that i'm not supposed to spend

I have a couple; the 'far end' of the wish list...

An Astra Falcon in reasonable shape. (Since they were stopped production in the 1970s or so, I've seen exactly ONE, in a museum.)

A Remington model 51 that I can afford.

The next couple I would like, but I doubt I will ever be able to afford:

A Colt commercial Government Model made prior to 1940 (preferable the commercial equivalent to a pre 'A1' version) in factory nickle.

The same pistol in Super .38 caliber.

A Smith & Wesson 1913; the ".35 S&W" caliber auto pistol.

Any one of the custom revolvers built for a now long deceased friend of mine.

A pinned and recessed S&W model 58 revolver.
