There's a difference between chasing a fad and chasing a trend, I think. For example, fad = wearing wind pants in the 1990s or oversized shoulder pads in the 1980s. That was popular for a bit but superficial and now looks silly in retrospect. Double-stack magazines in a gun just as slim as the old single-stack guns? That's definitely a trend. The Sig P365 instantly became one of the best-selling guns in the country, and every other CCW gun manufacturer now has a competitor.
