When being attacked, when do you stop pulling the trigger?

"Grand juries have indicted people in the past for doing a Mozambique drill. (It shows that the defender tried to intentionally kill the attacker)"

FWIW, there is no such thing as a "Mozambique" in true professional CCW Training.

A head, or more correctly, a "Cranial-Ocular" shot is called for only if there is a "Failure to Stop" situation and you have followed the accepted protocol
to initiate a C/O shot. If you've had the training and did follow it in the
altercation then it is defenseable in court. The top level Instructor's {like Taylor or AYoob} WILLback you up in court or via letter or personal testimony.

How fast can you TAP-TAP-SLAP? If, god forbid, I have to trade bullets with a BG, odds are good he'll have a wound above the shoulders. Thats what I was taught and thats what I practice. I would rather be tried by 12 then carried by 6. ;)

Quote from Hillbilly:
---------
Shoot to stop.

Shoot until the threat or threats are no longer a threat.

If that's one shot and the bad guy runs off, stop shooting then.

If that's midway through the second mag, and the bad guy is on the ground but still crawling toward you with his knife, keep shooting.

Shoot to stop.

And don't stop until the threat does.
------------

We are shooting to make them stop, not to kill them. If we have to kill to make them stop, we still shoot to stop.
