Just to clarify, you're completely opposed to carrying a pistol that has a manual safety, but does not require it be used? Pretty much any hammer-fired pistol with a trigger capable of being fired in a double-action mode is just as safe to carry with the hammer at rest and the safety off as is a pistol with such a trigger and no safety at all. I'm only asking because there are a LOT of excellent choices with that feature. I myself frequently carry in this manner, and did when I was "on the job" as well. All of my handguns that have both a manual safety and a DA-capable trigger are carried and/or stowed with a round chambered, the hammer at rest, and the safety off.
Would you be okay with a decocker, or do you prefer to "thumb-lower" your cocked hammer?
If I found an excellent example of what you're looking for, though, preferably with an all-steel construction, I'd probably go for it. I prefer no manual safety, too, but am not bothered by one that happens to be there. I just don't use it.
