I wanted to find out where you guys get your pistol bullets from and what you shoot them in once loaded. I am always looking for a place I can get bullets cheaper that work just as well or better than what I have. Just don't want to pay for 100 or 500 or 1000 bullets that may or may not be awsome. I mostly use Barrys but wanted some feedback on what you guys like. I know my list is small since I only started reloading a few months ago. But I gotta say I like Barry's so far.

Using my M&P 9mm
Barry's 124gn RN - Provide me the best group with 5.7gn unique
Barry's 124gn HBRN
Barry's 124gn HBFP

Using Walther PK380
Barry's 100gn HBRN
Hornady 90gn XTP

Precision Delta
Missouri Bullet
Precision Ammunition
Zcast Lead Bullets

I like Zcast for lead bullets. Good prices plus they are local and I can pick up at the shop.

Tennessee Valley Bullets

Dry Creek Bullet Works

I'm going to give Rim Rock bullets a try too.

For those of you that have used Matt's Bullets how do you like them? I want to give them a try as they have a lot of traditional styles namely Keith's and others that I'd like to try. Their prices are very reasonable too since most vendors that sell true Keith bullets charge large sums of money. However in their defense they do hand cast them versus machine casting.

Roze Distribution

T.J. Conevera (For Berry's Bullets +)
Shooters' Connection
Berry's
Montana Gold
Midway--(now has Speer Gold Dots)
Have used several others when components were scarce: Graf's, Mid-South, ++++

Penn bullets for .38/.357 & .45 lead for me.
They are being fired from Vaquero s, SAA clones, Beretta Renegade '73 s, Rossi '92 , Beretta Cougar s , Old Army s , CX4 .

For lead, I use MBC. For 1k or so jacketed, I use Powder Valley and buy Zero brand. For a case of 3500+, I use Montana Gold. The real savings with the Montana Gold is free shipping on a case. For a great deal here and there, I use Rocky Mountain Reloading.

I'd cast if I could, but it just isn't feasable. Probably not for most people. I like Montana Gold, but unless you are shooting matches, they are not worth it.

I use them in my M&P 9. 115s (Using 6.6gr AA#7 for a very clean light load) but I also have 124s and 147s to work up some day.
I have some z cast 124s to try some day too, it doesn't get much cheaper if you have to buy projectiles. These particular ones look pretty good.

I just bought some Bayou Bullets for testing, if they are as good as reported I'll not buy any FMJ for a long while and my MG will be shelved for match use.

Plated, no thanks.

Going to give lead a try. Just placed orders from MBC & Z Cast. Been hearing good things about Bayou Bullets and may give them a try down the road.

The only place I have found where you can buy smaller amounts is Precision Delta. They sell sample packs of 100 for $18, delivered.

MidwayUSA for commercial stuff, like Speer, Hornady, and Nosler. I either buy on sale, or use a promo code.

Rim Rock for my cast bullets.

Roger's Better Bullets. King shooting Supply, King of Prussia, Pa. I found his cast bullets to be as good as "Laser Cast" bullets and much cheaper.

I reload for .40 (Beretta PX4), .38 Special (S&W 642), & 45-70 Govt. (Springfield Trapdoor).

I have been using Rainers Plated from Cabela's, Berry's either direct or on clearance at Cabela's, Sutler's Shooters Choice from Scheels, & Penn Bullets.

If you want to test small batches of cast you can use Dardas Cast Bullets, https://www.dardascastbullets.com, I have not used them personally but have heard good things about them and plan to order some for future testing. You can get 100-250-500-1000 round lots from them at resonable prices. Penn Bullets gave me 85 Lead SWC rounds to test for funtion in my .40 pistol these were included at no cost with a regular order.

I found a guy who organizes group buys of components. This drives the prices way down. We get bullets, powder and primers.
Look around for "that guy". Try Craigslist or local shooting clubs/organizatons.

I've just recently dabbled in reloading lead bullets for my autos. In times past just reloaded lead for wheel guns.

I'm beginning to be sold on lead. I have an indoor (old barn) range beside our house. Since it is inside, with less than bright light conditions, I don't notice nearly as much muzzle flash from blow-by gases with lead bullets. Accuracy is on par, I'm not a crack shot anyway. Takes a lot less powder to achieve similar velocities. And they are more economical, even buying them already cast.

Only downside is cleaning the barrel. I have a mason jar 3/4 full of Hopps #9 and soak the barrel over-night, then use a brass brush, and blow what's left out with compressed air. Cleaning isn't that big a deal.

God bless whoever came up with this idea.

Try using an old copper bore brush wrapped with copper scrubber strands (like Chore boy). Few strokes back and forth will remove all the leading in the barrel. I usually dip my bore brush/copper strands in Hoppes #9 for one step lead/fouling removal and no soaking required.

Just be sure it is copper and not copper plated steel (take a magnet with you to test).
